“My medical insurance refused to reimburse me. I have a private medical insurance and they refused to reimburse me because I'm sanctioned by the US” Francesca Albanese speaks to @mathildamall on MEE Live about the severe implications of US sanctions on an individual, such as in Albanese’s case, with fears that Donald Trump may sanction the ICC. What would that mean for global justice? Watch the full MEE Live show on Middle East Eye’s YouTube channel.

A Global Sumud Flotilla Reunion With These Two Amazing Souls @MathildaMall @ZaheeraSoomar14 Who Were Truly Amazing To Be Around For Weeks Before Setting Sail And Also While At Sea. Sometimes In Life You Do Not Know How Much People Can Make An Impact On You Until You See Them Again. It Was Truly An Honour To Be On A Humanitarian Mission As Big And Necessary And Important As The @gbsumudflotilla Is With You Both. Also Many Thanks To @banna_alkhayri @ealingfriendsofpalestine And Everyone Else For Their Support And Solidarity For The Fight Against Oppression. I Am Lost For Words So I Will Just Say Not Everyone Will Understand Each Other At Times But When You Know Your Heart And Intentions Are In The Right Place That Is All That Matters. We Never Lose Hope Because Our Entire Life Is Built On Hope And Survival. This Is Why We Fight For Those Who Are Oppressed And Denied Basic Human Rights. Some Will Understand And Some Will Not. But For Those Who Understand We Have So Much More Work To Do. We Won’t Stop Until Palestine Is Free INSHALLAH 🇵🇸✊🏾

In an interview with MEE Live, Cenk Uygur argued that recent political gains aren’t a global leftist victory but a breakthrough for populism. He told @mathildamall that the win reflects growing rejection of corruption and corporate money in US politics

Most of the volunteers on the Sumud Flotilla have been released from Israeli detention but David Adler has been imprisoned. It’s unlikely the current US administration will intervene so it falls to us to urge other countries, like the UK, to insist David is released immediately.

This Israeli government tweet is a classic propaganda release designed to criminalize humanitarian aid and Palestinian civil society It weaves together unverifiable claims, guilt-by-association, and self-serving "terrorist" designations to reframe a non-violent act of solidarity as a military operation The most glaring lie is framing a humanitarian mission as a "provocation“, a tactic used to create a pretext for state violence These flotillas are a form of non-violent direct action challenging the illegal, 17-year blockade of Gaza, which constitutes a war crime The argument also hinges on Israel's unilateral designation of the PCPA as a "terrorist organization“, a political weapon used to crush Palestinian organizing Israel designates a group as "terrorist”, then uses that label to claim any association with the group is proof of terrorism Furthermore, the tweet deliberately conflates politics with armed action by presenting a letter from a political leader as a smoking gun A call for political unity from Ismail Haniyeh to a diaspora conference is standard political engagement, not a military directive The entire case rests on associating names on a list with the flotilla, which is a smear tactic, not evidence To prove the flotilla is a military threat, Israel would need to provide actual evidence of military intent This requires proof of military culpability, not mere political association Israel must show that the activists and humanitarians on board were involved in planning armed attacks Critically, there is no evidence the ships are carrying weapons or military cargo Its absence exposes the lie, as the vessels are known to carry food and medical supplies. To substantiate its ownership claim, Israel would need to produce verified financial records showing funds from Hamas's armed wing were used to procure these vessels for an attack Similarly, verifiable communications detailing hostile intent or military plans are completely absent Instead, they offer a dubiously translated document whose context cannot be independently verified Israel’s narrative collapses under scrutiny, revealing its true goal, to justify attacking humanitarian missions and continuing its genocidal siege on Gaza This is a desperate attempt to criminalize all forms of solidarity and isolate the Palestinian people from the world

My mum spent the day on the phone to the UK’s foreign office asking them to protect their citizens on the flotilla. They told her “the British government is not able to provide assistance at the moment”. Spain & Italy are sending us navy ships. @Keir_Starmer, step up.

Last night, we were attacked by drones in a 5-hour assault including explosive and chemical substances. 0 casualties, 1 injury, 4 ships damaged. We were in international waters, a lawful and peaceful civilian movement. We need your eyes & voices. Hands off the flotilla!

🔴The Global Sumud Flotilla Holds A Press Conference in Tunis After Its Flagship Was Attacked Monday Evening At around 11:30 PM on Monday evening, an unknown object dropped and exploded on the deck of the Family Madeira ship, the lead vessel of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF). The Family Madeira is sailing under a Portuguese flag and was anchored about 50 miles from the port of Sidi Bou Said in Tunis when the boat was struck. The Global Sumud Flotilla released a statement last night stating that the organization suspects a UAV had dropped an incendiary device onto the ship, causing a small fire that was quickly put out by those onboard. The ship’s crew and the participants of the Flotilla are safe and unharmed. The Tunisian national guard claimed the GSF reports of the drone attack were “unfounded,” adding that the fire was caused by a cigarette butt or a lighter. Footage shared by GSF shows an object emitting light falling to the deck of the Family Madeira and exploding. The source and nature of the exploding object remain unconfirmed. On Tuesday morning at 10:00AM, GSF held a press conference on the stairs of the Municipal Theatre located on Habib Bourguiba Avenue, a thoroughfare in central Tunis. Lead organizer Thiago Ávila addressed the crowd to reaffirm the Sumud Flotilla’s commitment to its mission, calling on the world “to rise up.” He continued, “We need to mobilize in demonstrations, in boycotting, breaking the media blockade, breaking the big tech in social media, we need to disrupt the arms factories and the mechanisms of the genocide. We need to all be together in this historical task of our generation. Once again, we thank the Tunisian government and, most of all, the Tunisian people for the warm welcome here. We continue our mission.” — Alex Colston (@enoughformethx) reports from Tunis on Tuesday morning Watch Ávila’s full statement on behalf of the Global Sumud Flotilla here:
