I totally agree. I feel the same way every year when I pay income tax. At the same time, I convince myself that at least a part of that money might go towards a good cause someone's education, someone's livelihood, or helping a family in need. The reason I commented is that most people in the comment section of your post are simply degrading others and spreading hate. Let those 400+ students and their families live better lives and improve their circumstances. The government is not going to select students completely at random. Even if only one out of those 400+ students comes back and contributes something meaningful to society, that's still a positive outcome. Simple thing, bro we can't change everything, especially things that are beyond our control. "Thirudura kootam irukum varai, thiruttum irukum."

@mathirajendran 1. We believe Indians are paying way more taxes than we should be. 2. You won't see any harm during the short term but this will cause problems in the long term when the older population of TN exceeds the younger population.

There is nothing to be proud of about using Indian taxpayers money to send students abroad for higher education. If the Government really wants the best for Indian students, they should work on making education better in India.
