I love working late night. Everyone is sleeping and there are 0 distractions. Just 100% uninterrupted focus. So calm and relaxing.
Are you a night owl or early morning worker?
If you've been following me for a while now, you know I'm Mormon.
I'm a hardcore Mormon. The beliefs are deep.
And it's not something I deviate on. It's something I believe to my core.
One of the Mormon beliefs is that we don't drink coffee.
It's a weird belief.
I think coffee's stupid, but it's one of our beliefs.
So I've never touched it, I've never had it.
And it was funny, because there's this guy who somehow got through all my gatekeepers and somehow he got to me.
He had this moment, this moment in time where he could pitch me on his thing.
He was pitching me on this MLM he had, which was a coffee MLM.
They had a lot of products, but their core, front-end product was coffee.
His message was,
"Russell, this is a ground-floor opportunity. It's going to be amazing.
As you know, everybody in America drinks coffee.
This is the greatest product. Everyone drinks this blah blah blah blah."
And I listened to it and I'm smiling and I was like,
Dude, I know what you had to go through to get in front of me.
To have this platform, to have a moment to pitch your thing.
But you didn't do your homework.
You showed up not knowing that Mormons don't drink coffee.
I'm a Mormon and I believe it deep in my soul.
I've never touched it, never will touch it.
You pitched me on the one thing I don't do.
So remember, the next time you try to connect with anyone and pitch...
Make sure to do your homework!!!
@maxwellfinn Love that stuff! The way our brains want to find/maintain comfort and consistency and how it's willing to connect unrelated dots is crazy.
The more you study neuroscience the more you realize how easily persuadable humans are.
Something as simple as playing French music in a wine store can increase sales of French wines.
Or giving someone a warm cup of coffee can make them think others are more trustworthy.
Positive feedback on the work you do is always appreciated, but I'm not gonna lie...
Having Frank Kern tell Grant Cardone that:
"if he needs someone to write something for him he needs to have me write it because I know what the fuck I'm doing" in person...
Was easily the biggest compliment I think I've ever received since writing copy for others.
Imposter syndrome is a son of a bitch that will absolutely hold you back from doing what you're capable of if you don't get over it and handle it.
And I've definitely been dragging my feet a lot this past year trying to decide if I should finally release some solid copywriting training...
Instead of just going with the motions and only doing client work. (BTW I have some spots open lol)
Now, I don't ever fanboy over people, but the respect I have for both of these dudes because of both
How cool they've been to me, and the fact that Frank is pretty much the reason I do what I do, to begin with...
That small, passive comment made a huge lasting impact on my mindset and determination to keep moving things forward over these past few years.
So, that's exactly what I'm gonna do...
Copywriting course coming soon ✌🏻
I’m SUPER bullish on people who prioritize building genuine connections by supporting others first.
If you’re consistently supporting others without any expectations, let’s connect! 🤝
Sorry, but I bought .05 ETH of $pepe to join the party at the recent dip. I hope I didn’t jinx it.
The only way to 2x is if it doubles from here, but yolo. Just wanted to feel something other than my fricked up hand and eye.
This ain’t financial advice what so ever. I just haven’t bought anything in forever, and enough of y’all crazy mfers convinced me. So if it goes down or up at least we go down or up together. I will be selling though if it does 2x just saying 😂💀 gg

I spent a decade on Instagram only to have it be banned overnight. After months of fighting Meta I've given up and created a new one.
My new username is Jesseeckel0 because I now have 0 followers, and that means it's only up from here!
We will rebuild!🥳
@NFT_GOD@thejustinwelsh It's worse and better than people make it sound 👀
Focus on the "and better" to make it even better, but don't ignore the "worse" some solid lessons in there too 😁
I think a lot about Tom From Myspace.
Most people think Tom missed a huge opportunity because Myspace died and Facebook is a multi billion dollar company.
But Tom travels the world doing what he loves while Zuck is one of the most hated ppl on the planet.
So who really won?
@mtgreenee What if instead of antagonizing people you disagree with and increasing the division between Americans you focused on bringing people together and finding solutions 🤔
@LucidRob Love this approach.
I always write like I'm talking to a friend. Not sure how else to do it.
I've been testing short copy out to generate responses and it's pretty fun.
The more I hang out in copywriting groups the more I realize "we are not the same, I am a martian." - Lil' Wayne.
Really though, the way other [more professional??] writers talk about what we do makes me think that maybe I'm too laid back about everything.
Saw someone say that when they're asked what they do they reply with "I write ethical persuasive words that increase the influence and income of your business."
...bruh
I was on the phone with a prospect yesterday and straight up told them "I write stuff that makes people buy your stuff." They got the picture and were totally into it.
Idk man, maybe I'm wired differently, but I write how I talk and explain things like we're long-time friends who don't know shit about fuck.
The sentences you write shouldn't be mental obstacle courses unless they need to be for the specific task you're handling.
I can't wrap my head around attempting to sex stuff up by making it sound fancier than it needs to. You do X to make Y do Z. That's it.
Maybe I'm lazy. Maybe I'm efficient? Maybe it's both... Who's to say?
All I know is that the people I'm writing this stuff for know less than I do, and I don't know shit...
So I leverage that and it works every time.
We’ll we had 2 choices. The guy that tried to over throw our government or the other guy. I’d say we made the right choice. We wouldn’t even have a democracy anymore if it went the other way. It’s not bidens fault the regional banks are failing. Remember this? washingtonpost.com/business/econo…
We are witnessing widespread bank fails and the president just gave a 5 min speech then walked off camera.
Brace for impact. You get what you vote for.
