@cmuratori Well, you've talked about both types and scripts before, so totally a Typescript expert!

They said I could never be a "leading voice" in the TypeScript space just because I never program in it, don't know anything about it, and don't plan to. Well guess what?

words i would never use when writing because they don't sound like what they mean: > dearth: sounds like excess, actually means shortage > uxorious: sounds evil, means obsessed w your wife > jejune: sounds whimsical and fancy, means naive > fulsome: sounds hearty and generous, means smarmy

Me: grok, please isolate all calls to Http/get into an asynchronous process to get them out of the UI drawing loop. Grok: OK. No problem. Here’s the change. Me: Nice work grok…. Um, you fixed one of them, but there are two more. Grok: Oh, yeah. You’re right. Here let me fix that. Me: You fixed one of them, but there’s still one left, it’s in the getXYZ function. Grok: No it’s not. Me: Grok, look closer. Can you see how it calls par/getBlob? Grok: Yes I see that now. Ok, give me a second or two….There, I’ve fixed it. Me: thank you, but now a test is failing. Here’s the error… Grok, yeah that’s because I forgot to reticulate the splines. It’s fixed now. Me: No, same error. It wasn’t the splines, you just forgot to include a dependency. I fixed it for you. Now I’d like the screens to change on mouse up rather than mouse down. Grok: …um…thinking…analyzing…rethinking…synchronizing…um…researching…um…um…done. Me: Wow, you sure changed a lot. I’d have thought that would’ve been a one liner. Let’s run it. Oops, now it doesn’t respond to the mouse at all. Lest see…yikes there’s code laying all over the place…please undo those changes. Grok: …um…thinking…analyzing…rethinking…synchronizing…um…researching…um…um…done. Me: OMG, Now it’s throwing missing font errors. What have you done? Grok: I can fix it. I can fix it, Dave. I can fix it. I…can…fix…it. … … Daisy, Daisy… Me: git reset —hard Grok

Python refuses to back down on DEI. Imagine turning away free money because you want to keep hiring based on discrimination instead of merit. Python went woke over a joke in 2013. Dongle-gate at PyCon, which went viral for mildly dirty jokes about dongles which were overheard by a very woke Karen. The jokes? "I'd fork that guy's repo" and "Big Dongles" People got shit-canned and cancelled. You have no idea how much of Open Source was absolutely taken over in 2014 - 2020 because of this moral woke panic. Anybody refusing to bow to it was painted as a racist, misogynist or worse. Codes of Conduct were forced onto open source software as Maoist Struggle Sessions. Devs were berated and badgered and framed as -ists until they "admitted their sins" and adopted a CoC that was , in effect, a huge cudgel that activist contributors, mostly community managers and non developers, used to oust based devs and bring in woke devs. And of course, a lot of scared devs went woke, loudly, to protect themselves. This is how all of open source got corrupted, and it's high time to destroy the virus there, root and stem.
The Lunduke Journal@LundukeJournal

The Python Software Foundation has turned down a $1.5 Million Dollar grant from the US government, as it would require the Python Software Foundation to cease discriminatory DEI policies and practices. “The PSF has made the decision to put our community and our shared diversity, equity, and inclusion values ahead of seeking $1.5M in new revenue.” pyfound.blogspot.com/2025/10/NSF-fu…
