@Michellewb_ Hey - hopefully can clear this up. At Kpler we have it as carrying UAN (Urea Ammonium Nitrate) which is a fertilizer and not sanctioned. There have been a few of these in the last two months on cpp/chems tankers

I've tracked very carefully but I'm pretty sure that tanker Ladybug (IMO 9391385) loaded at Novorossiyk and just discharged on the US East Coast

@Big_Orrin Some of this may be due to difficulty finding buyers but most are just because crude cargoes are travelling further. About 25mb is en route to India alone. There's been only a small increase in actual floating storage of Urals (currently around 2.5mb).

Russian crude is travelling further than before, lifting ton-miles. Aframaxes carrying Russian cargoes already accounted for a large share of Aframax demand, at about a quarter of ton-miles in 2021. In March, the Russian share increased to 29%, the highest level in two years.

Yes, some vessels have gone "dark" in the Black Sea, but it's most likely for their own safety rather than to mask suspicious activity. Considering Russian oil is not sanctioned there's no need. Besides, even if they do, there's no hiding from Kpler! kpler.com/blog/number-of…

Have Russian crude oil exports fallen? Not yet. But more Russian crude is on the water, where it will be searching for a buyer. That search will get increasingly complicated. Mission critical update from Alex Booth at @Kpler.

The US sourced 42% (318 kbd) of all seaborne DPP barrels from Russia in 2021. Most of this flowed into southern Louisiana (138 kbd), Houston (60 kbd) and Beaumont/Port Arthur (38 kbd).

🧵My translation of the analysis of the current situation in Russia by an active FSB analyst. Buckle up for a long thread and definitely please share far & wide. The full text is over 2000 words. This is a highly insightful look behind the curtain - covers many subjects.

I have received definitive news that within the next 72hours the nuclear deal will be signed in Vienna.Even if it might take a couple of days more or so,what appears to be certain is that the deal will be reached. #Iran's #oil is returning to the market under golden circumstances

@Janexal and I wrote this a few weeks back looking at the potential impact of sanctions on Russian energy exports should they invade. Sanctions of this magnitude are still unlikely but with troops on the ground, we will have to see what the response is. kpler.com/blog/sanctions…
