@Cruising_64 You didn’t read the whole thread

Means more draftees, more draftees the more chance of landing a gun or a good player. The problem now is that they don’t start as guns, they take time. So you have a team with an A graders, a fair few maybe B graders, then the rest are about that D or just C level 🧵

@SilentGhost263 Agree… there’s no other option. Bryan can’t come back in soon enough!
But I’m also not expecting Bryan to be much better
English

@mattywarner unfortunately its the right call, play Blakiston til Bryan is back and Vigo is ready, better that than another bang average plodder to take 3 years of their developement away
English

@FlightPlanPod Yep, agree.
I don’t think I’ve ever called for a coach to be stacked… but gee I’m getting close.

I (Toddy) have been a big Brad Scott fan since his time with the Roos, which I felt he, the players and the club punched so far above their weight, I couldn't help but be impressed.
Unfortunately, he hasn't come close to replicating that club-wide mindset in red & black, & based on our two games of 2026 - the players ostensibly, have lost belief. Even worse, first round draft picks either can't get a game have been delisted or have regressed and stagnated in disastrous fashion. It is further compounded by a huge leadership void on field.
I've always been glass half full guy when it comes to Essendon, but a hard decision our coach needs to be made asap. Either declare he'll see out the rest of the season to right the ship, or actively seek his replacement ASAP.
Essendon fans are more than welcome to reply with your thoughts and feelings - but I'm restricting it to accounts we follow only ❤️🖤

@SilentGhost263 That’s fair
Caddy, Kako, Johnson & Nguyen were positives for me.
I’m worried we are going to keep getting smashed in the middle every week we play Blakiston 🫣
English

@mattywarner they didn't have good games by any means but they had good moments which is what i look for with guys at their career stage/experience.
English

@FlightPlanPod 1. No injuries
2. defensive pressure, particularly in our forward line
3. Blakiston showing he is capable against a good ruckman
4. The young lads shining - Huss, Farrow, Sharp, Kondo
English

@sab_rossitto @JonathanJWalsh Exactly.
I’d rather not give oxygen to the oxygen thief!
English

@mattywarner @JonathanJWalsh Yes !!!
and if u do click on it … more of his 💩 will appear in timeline
English

IF….
This doesn’t contain at least one pot shot at Dave Barham.
THEN…
I’ll be shocked.

Amazing Australian legal system moment
> Jihadist teacher and NDIS support worker bashes Jewish guy at Bondi Beach
> His defence lawyer Osman Samin previously spent years defending ISIS members and fighting against attempts to cancel their citizenship
> Defence lawyer tells court that the teacher had anxiety when he bashed the Jewish guy
> “Your honour he was stressed because his brother was on the Gaza flotilla”
> “Please give him another chance your honour so he can go back to his work as an NDIS support worker”
> Islamic school gives him glowing character reference
> Court actually buys it
> Zero conviction
> Walks off smirking

Since it’s that time of year and everyone is doing it. Here is my best 23 heading into Round 1. #GoDons

English

@mattywarner @FlightPlanPod Blakiston was the best ruckman on the ground, even when Nank was out there.
And Bryan returning means we have two solid ruckmen to create selection pressure, will only be a good think.
Rule changes suit both of them

Dons vs Tigers match sim notes:
-Fiorini looked right at home in the red & black
-Parish is going to make a lot of detractors look silly
-McKay is the polar opposite to the bloke who struggled at times in 2025. Looks strong, fit & confident
-Caddy is putting it all together. He's gotten much better at timing his leads, which will help the issues he had last year about running under the ball
-Roberts needs to tidy his foot skills, but his ball-winning ability is top tier. Wouldn't surprise to see him play some big midfield minutes
-Huss' small forward instincts are very impressive & he could be in line with an early debut
-Clarke was covering the ground well & looks set to go to another level in season two
-Farrow has to debut Round 1
English

@mattywarner @FlightPlanPod It was Blakiston. After the first quarter he ran all over Nankervis which was very good to see.
His taps were elite and Parish and Caldwell benefited heaps.
English

@mattywarner Yea oxymoronically i hope its a very minor niggle/injury cos nothing about his pre-season or comments from onlookers has indicated he would just not be around the starters.
