Here's why your optic's reticle needs to have depth, and not just have the reticle stuck to the glass. Both of these animations are the exact same. The only difference is how far out the reticle is being rendered. #b3d

Marathon's art direction is stunning. It genuinely feels like they hacked my brain and built my dream sci-fi aesthetic. The last time an art direction hit me this hard was 20 years ago with Dofus, nothing alike, but I already know it’s going to stay with me.

Im D.U. I make lowpoly weapons. It's more about style than the number of polygons. I work in Blender 3.6. I'm not good with textures, so I work without them. I like coffee and am generally friendly. If you like what I do, that's great. If not, I don't care, I'm just having fun.

Shadow mapping in my custom software renderer is finally looking good! Double render passes, a 1024×1024 depth texture, and MSAA x16 on Sponza is the limit for now to move in the scene. I'll focus on optimizing rasterization, tile-based could be nice. #gamedev #graphics #cpp
