Heute Nacht um 00:30 deutscher Zeit soll der nächste Testflug der Starship-Rakete von SpaceX stattfinden. Es gibt dazu einige Fakten, die Vielen nicht klar sind: 1. Größe: Es ist riesig. Über 120m hoch, 9m Durchmesser. Das Bild illustriert es. 2. Transportkapazität: 100 Tonnen in niedrigen Erdorbit. Rund 70 VW Golf. 3. Anzahl: SpaceX plant Serienproduktion von 1000 pro Jahr. Soll so normal wie Flugzeuge werden. 4. Treibstoff: Methalox. Kann durch Sabatierprozess aus Luft-CO2, Wasser und Sonnenenergie erzeugt werden. Soll so auf Mars betankt werden. Wäre sogar CO2-neutral😉 4. Entwicklung: Bei jedem Flugtest gab es bisher Weiterentwicklungen. Beim nächsten Flug z.B. kein Hot Staging Ring zwischen Booster und Nutzstufe: Das war bisher das einzige nicht wiederverwendbare Element. Hinzu kommen viele technische Änderungen wie neue Grid Fins, Treibstoffverteilsystem, mehr Treibstoffvolumen, Triebwerkhitzeschutz, Dockingsystem für Auftanken im Orbit, neues Stromsystem mit 9MW peak power, neue leistungsfähigere Raptor 3 Triebwerke etc. 5. Experiment versus operationell: Das System wird bei Testflügen bewusst ans Limit und darüber hinaus geführt um zu sehen, wie hoch die Belastbarkeit ist. Da werden Hitzeschutzkacheln weggelassen, Eintrittswinkel extremer gestaltet, bewusst Ausfälle einzelner Triebwerke beim Start herbeigeführt oder starke Vibrationen erzeugt, usw., deshalb meinten Viele, bisherige Flüge seien "Fehlschläge", obwohl sie dazu dienten, Belastbarkeitsgrenzen für die Serienversion auszuloten. Die neue V3-Version, welche kommende Nacht erstmals startet, markiert den Übergang von der experimentellen Phase hin zur Version, die später in Serie eingesetzt werden soll. "Anthropic plans to use this additional compute to directly improve capacity for Claude Pro and Claude Max subscribers. As part of this agreement, Anthropic also expressed interest in partnering to develop multiple gigawatts of orbital AI compute capacity. The compute required to train and operate the next generation of these systems is outpacing what terrestrial power, land, and cooling can deliver on the timelines that matter. Built from the ground up in record time, Colossus delivers unprecedented scale for AI training, fine-tuning, inference, and high-performance computing workloads. Colossus 1 features over 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs, including dense deployments of H100, H200, and next-generation GB200 accelerators. The cluster delivers extreme parallel performance for large language models, multimodal systems, scientific simulations, and generative AI at frontier scale. SpaceX is the only organization with the launch cadence, mass-to-orbit economics, and constellation operations experience to make orbital compute a near-term engineering program rather than a research concept. If engineering challenges can be overcome, space-based compute offers near-limitless sustainable power with less impact on Earth." I think this is smart for SpaceX/xAI, as it seems to have some excess capacity as Colossus, so why not make a some money on the side by renting that compute capacity out. I think we'll see some more similar partnerships soon.

@wmorrill3 I see a market for a base model of the Cybertruck that could be sold to third-party companies to serve as the foundation for specialized vehicles. Based on this, they could then build, for example, RVs, small school buses, towing trucks, snowplows etc.

Werkstatt-Termin mit dem ID.5 Warnlampe 12V-Batterie (beliebter VW Fehler) Man prüft, man sucht, …. Keine Reparatur. Kosten trotzdem über 200€ mit Mwst.

Macrohard or Digital Optimus is a joint xAI-Tesla project, coming as part of Tesla’s investment agreement with xAI. Grok is the master conductor/navigator with deep understanding of the world to direct digital Optimus, which is processing and actioning the past 5 secs of real-time computer screen video and keyboard/mouse actions. Grok is like a much more advanced and sophisticated version of turn-by-turn navigation software. You can think of it as Digital Optimus AI being System 1 (instinctive part of the mind) and Grok being System 2. (thinking part of the mind). This will run very competitively on the super low cost Tesla AI4 ($650) paired with relatively frugal use of the much more expensive xAI Nvidia hardware. And it will be the only real-time smart AI system. This is a big deal. In principle, it is capable of emulating the function of entire companies. That is why the program is called MACROHARD, a funny reference to Microsoft. No other company can yet do this.

Das war absehbar. Hochpreisige Modelle laufen nur noch, wenn man deutscher Premiumhersteller ist (also nicht Audi), oder aus China kommt und Luxus anbietet.
