Our breakdown of Wes Streeting’s donors has been doing the rounds online for the last year. Now we’ve updated it – with another £55,000 from OPD Group, which, in the words of @EveryDoctorUK, “provides services to the NHS [and] is ultimately controlled by Peter Hearn, whose company Odgers Berndtson offers headhunting services to the NHS as well as the private healthcare sector”. Out of the kindness of their hearts?

"Our school is destroyed, there's nothing left." - Roa’a, 12, West Bank, State of Palestine. Her dreams of graduating grade 6 were shattered when her school - a place she loved to learn and play at with her friends - was reduced to rubble by settlers and Israeli forces. There have been 99 documented education-related incidents in 2026 alone, including the killing, injury and detention of students, the demolition of schools, military use of school buildings, and denial of access. Watch and share Roa'a's story.

“Children are paying an intolerable price for escalating militarised operations and settler attacks across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Between January 2025 and today, at least one Palestinian child has been killed, on average, every week. That is, 70 Palestinian children killed in this timeframe. Ninety-three per cent of these were killed by Israeli forces.” - @1james_elder, UNICEF Spokesperson Read the full remarks: unicef.link/4wuj0KE

Over 100 strikes on Lebanon in 24 hours. Civilians killed. Families displaced. We are doing everything to get support to those who need it. But what people need most is a genuine ceasefire.

Celebrating the wonderfully impressive work of @MedDetectDogs! 🦮❤️ At a reception at Clarence House, The Queen, as Patron, met supporters of the charity and some special canine friends. 🐾 Bio Detection Dogs are trained to detect diseases like cancers, Parkinson’s, COVID-19, malaria and bacterial infections on samples in the charity’s training room. Her Majesty saw a couple of the dogs at work and then watched a demonstration of the MDD’s new electronic nose, a collaboration between the charity and Dr Andreas Mershin to replicate the dogs’ diagnostic accuracy in scalable technology. The device is an early prostate cancer screening tool and has been inspired and informed by MDD Bio Detection Dogs including Florin the dog, who The Queen saw in action.

Our party has suffered a historic defeat. Many good Labour colleagues have lost their seats despite working hard for those they represented. We have lost good Labour administrations and lost the chance for more. What we are doing isn’t working, and it needs to change. This may be our last chance. The Labour Party must now live up to our name: we must be the party of working people. We’ve heard the same on the doorstep as we’ve seen in the polls - the cost of living is the top issue for voters of all parties. People have turned to populists and nationalists because we have not done enough to fix it. Living standards are barely higher than they were a decade and a half ago. People feel hopeless - that the cost of living crisis will never end, and now they see oil and gas companies use global instability to post record profits. Once again, ordinary people are paying the price for decisions they didn’t make. It’s no wonder that across the UK, working people feel the system is rigged against them. Things can be so much better than this. Countries including Spain and Canada have shown that economies can grow and people can thrive when governments stay true to labour and social democratic values and put people first. We need to learn from that. In London, we lost young people who fear they will never afford a home. In my patch and across the north, we lost working people whose wages are too low and costs too high. In Scotland and Wales, people do not currently see Labour as the answer.  We are in danger of becoming a party of the well-off, not working people. The Peter Mandelson scandal showed a toxic culture of cronyism.  Decisions like cutting winter fuel allowance just weren’t what people expected from a Labour government. For too long, successive governments have allowed wealth and power to concentrate at the top without a plan to ensure the benefits of economic growth are shared fairly. The result is an economy that does not work for the majority, with wealth concentrated in too few hands. This level of inequality, alongside squeezed living standards, is the outcome of a model built on deregulation, privatisation, and trickle-down economics. But we have the chance to fix this.  1/2

The body of the Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was found by rescuers after several hours of digging in the rubble after an Israeli strike. She is the fourth journalist to have been killed by Israeli forces in seven weeks. This is why the word ‘journacide’ is now being used.

The HALO Trust

Prince Harry joined The HALO Trust in #Ukraine 🇺🇦 today. He piloted an AI-powered drone that detects and maps explosives, and operated an R-BOT, a remotely controlled vehicle used to safely remove them – innovations that enable us to return land to communities sooner. “Nearly 30 years ago, when my mother visited Angola, deminers carried out painstaking work on their hands and knees. Today they are using drones, AI and robots,” said Prince Harry. In 2022, the Ukrainian government estimated that an area twice the size of Austria was potentially littered with mines and explosives. Since then, HALO has made real progress, with an area roughly the size of Belgium, confirmed safe, allowing families to return home and farmers to safely work their land. 🔗 Learn more: bit.ly/4n7tBa9

Read this detailed account from @ZeinakhodrAljaz of the sequence of events leading to the killing of Leb journalist Amal Khalil. Her editors; Leb Pres; Red Cross, were all informed and appealed for help. The Israeli military bombed her shelter anyway then prevented her rescue for hours, attacking the ambulance crews. Targeting journalists and first responders is a heinous breach of int law - no matter their affiliation, no matter it was inside Israeli-occupied land. Leb PM is demanding accountability and calls her killing a ‘blatant war crime’
Zeina Khodr@ZeinakhodrAljaz

The car the journalists were driving behind was hit by an Israeli drone at 2:45 pm killing 2 men inside; Zeinab, Amal took shelter in nearby house; At 2:50pm Amal called her editors, family; President Aoun called on Red Cross, army to rescue them; 4:27pm Israel bombed house
