The Mother of All Games Scorched Earth, by Wendell Hicken, was released as shareware in 1991. Not easy on the eyes, but one of the best multiplayer games ever! It let you customize everything - from gravity, wind, and meteor showers. Building on earlier games like QBasic Gorillas, it took the concept to a new level, supporting up to 10 players with far more complexity and variety. You could set the angle and power to aim, combined with a wide choice of weapons (unlike the banana in QBasic Gorillas). Computer-controlled enemies could be set from difficulty 1 (Moron) to 10 (Cyborg). No other game has named its lowest difficulty level so perfectly! If you have been paying attention, @tezos has supported @zcash's shielded transactions for tez and FA tokens (Tezos standard for digital assets) for some time now. Still, we have been missing the integrations downstream that elevated this feature from a niche audience of power users and privacy zealots and made it discoverable and available and to ALL users. Privacy is normal! There is hence no reason why so called "normie" users should not benefit from private transactions. @UmamiWallet has taken a first, pivotal, step in changing this narrative for good. Umami Web now supports a straightforward private transactions workflow, making them an integral part of users' Tezos journeys: - Any account automatically gets its shielded counterpart - Shielded balances and activity is showcased in wallet alongside unshielded balances/public transactions. - It uses a common good proxy for L1 gas fees, which improves anonymity, specially for internal pool txns. 💪This is only a first step, but a massive one.
