The moment was Covid. It happened. Almost every journalist in the nation failed to relay reliable information, instead succumbing to panic and the widest-spread daily curtailment of civil liberties in my lifetime. The rare figures who didn't were silenced or stifled or removed.
Lulu NYT@LuluGNavarro

Every single word of this fantastic column by @Peggynoonannyc ‘I fear sometimes that few people really care about journalism, but we are dead without it. Someday something bad will happen, something terrible on a national scale, and the thing we’ll need most, literally to survive, is information. Reliable information—a way to get it, and then to get it to the public. That is what journalism is, getting the information. ‘ wsj.com/opinion/a-lame…

@CRutcM @PhotosND lol @CRutcM blocking after first coming to the ND page to attack a religious post. What a disappointing end to our exchange. Just like Bama getting a CFP spot after a flaccid SEC championship performance & being even more pitiful in the CFP

@CRutcM @LucyWarriner3 @PhotosND Karen? wtf you must be clinging to 2018 with this kind of comeback. Must be because that's when Bama football was still relevant. That was a weak reply by you after getting called out and owned. Don't waste my time with a childish gif in response. I won't see it anyway, muted

The most amazing thing about the press reaction to Don Lemon is that victims at the church said Lemon was more than just reporting and the press pretends these people don't exist.

@becca_begotten @LucyWarriner3 @C_CTink @HjgTweet @LeorSapir Ah there it is...thanks for proving my points. Male arrogance & condescension. And yes children are easily influenced by people in their lives. No bigotry or discrimination. Males have their spaces and sports too. A second doctor speaks out today. “As a cardiologist, I am particularly alarmed by the cardiovascular risks these interventions pose to developing young hearts. Cross-sex hormones, such as estrogen in biological males or testosterone in biological females, are known to alter lipid profiles , increase blood clotting, and elevate the risk of thromboembolic events, stroke, myocardial infarction (heart attack), and hypertension. Multiple studies and reviews have documented these dangers: estrogen therapy may raise the likelihood of venous thromboembolism and ischemic events, while testosterone can worsen blood cholesterol and promote abnormal thickening of the heart muscle (cardiac hypertrophy). In adolescents, whose cardiovascular systems are still maturing, these effects could compound over a lifetime, potentially leading to premature heart disease—the leading cause of death worldwide.”

There were 250,000 children under 5 in Gaza. Now, 380,000 children under 5 in Gaza are dead, although nearly all the 250,000 children under 5 in Gaza are still alive. This is what the terminal stage of schizoid anti-semitism looks like. Get out while you still have a brain.

“Some scholars and scientists estimate the real death toll in Gaza at 680,000.” “If confirmed, 380,000 of them are infants under five.” —Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur

Sex differences between men and women are not confined to the reproductive organs. They run through all levels of human biology—from subtle features of organs and tissues to differences on the cellular and molecular level. It turns out that aside from our reproductive organs, the most sexually differentiated human organ is the brain. The differences are not just physical but also psychological, influencing our cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning. There are important and measurable sex differences in our experience of emotion, memory, vision, and hearing. Men and women differ in our perceptual processing of faces, in pain perception, navigation, neurotransmitter levels in our brain, and the effects of stress hormones our bodies. We are prone to different diseases, and we respond differently to the same medical treatments. Many of these differences are innate rather than acquired—they are present from before birth and persist throughout life. Keep in mind also that these differences are subtle, and we should not exaggerate them, as sometimes happens in popular treatments of this issue—“Men are from Mars and women are from Venus,” and so forth. There is also considerable intrasex variation—sex traits exist on a bell curve, with considerable overlap between the sexes. One mistake that gender ideology makes is the notion that a man with some characteristically feminine traits or interests is “really a woman,” and vice versa. This is not true: he is simply a man at the tail end of this normally distributed bell curve—a boy who likes ballet, or a girl who likes football. That’s all. Gender ideology fails to acknowledge the full extent of intrasex variation (and overlap between the sexes) in gender-specific traits. In this way, transgenderism ironically “defines” male and female too narrowly. We should note in this context that biologists distinguish between the sexes on the basis of their role in reproduction, not gender-typical behaviors or traits. Also, rare “intersex” conditions, which are caused by genetic or hormonal abnormalities, do not undermine the basic biological fact of sexual dimorphism—the biological norm of male and female. For example, biological males have an XY complement of sex chromosomes, and females have XX chromosomes. Intersex conditions may cause someone to be born with XXY chromosomes. These genetic variations are found in less than 1% of the population. Medicine understands these conditions to be anomalies or disorders of sexual development: they involve functional and reproductive deficiencies, like infertility, when measured against the natural norm of male and female. These scientific findings on sex differences are ignored today by a theory of gender that rejects our embodied sexuality and attempts to divorce gender entirely from biological sex. On the contrary, contemporary scientific findings suggest that sex and gender can be distinguished but not completely separated.

@becca_begotten @LucyWarriner3 @C_CTink @HjgTweet @LeorSapir Still not a woman. If men can compete in women's sports, use women's private spaces, go to women's prisons, etc then why have sex-separated entities? All sports will be dominated by men; women will be physically dominated by the stronger sex as we have already seen. You hate women

Dear parents & guardians, Spring and summer will be here before we know it—and soon kids will be back outside mowing lawns and staying active. Here’s the question: will one of your kids be next to take on the 50 Yard Challenge? Every year, more and more amazing kids from across the country step up to serve their communities by providing FREE lawn care for the elderly, disabled, single parents, and veterans. This challenge is a powerful way for kids to give back, build responsibility, and even earn community service hours for school. The best part? There’s no deadline and no pressure. Kids can start today and finish months—or even a few years—down the road. This is not a race. They go at their own pace, on their own schedule, one lawn at a time. Along the way, kids are rewarded for their commitment. Every 10 lawns they complete, they earn a new color T-shirt, starting with white and progressing through different colors—just like earning belts in karate. And once they reach 50 lawns and earn their black T-shirt, they are rewarded with brand-new lawn equipment: a mower, weed eater, and blower. If you’re looking for a meaningful way for your child to stay active, serve others, and grow in character this spring and summer, this is it. 👉 Sign your child up today and let them get started when they’re ready.Together, we’re teaching the next generation the power of service—one lawn at a time. @BradWilcoxIFS With all due respect, what’s the actual evidence of “an MSM narrative”? Seems like you lob 1-2 quotes (always the NYT!) to try to set up your point. 1000s of MSM reporters did 1000s of pieces during Covid. Why not just make your point without trying to attack a key institution?

@KYHSHistory @bourne_beth2345 @LucyWarriner3 @ifihadastick @CIFState Trans girls w/male athletic advantage competing in girls' sports are rightly being criticized. That is not bullying. My bubble mowing calendar is filling up! Can I add your school to the list I’ll be visiting ? Bubble Mowing Days are when I visit a school (Any where I the USA) and bring bubble mowers for the kids. It’s just really a fun day of mowing bubbles . This initiative is open to any school in the USA for children ages 3-6. Preferably, classes with 25 or fewer students will be able to keep the mowers. For classes with more than 25 students, I will leave 25 bubble mowers with you. This is entirely FREE! Each kid also gets a copy of my book, thanks to generous people that sponsor them for classes . The bubble mowers are also sponsored by generous donors . Will your school be next on my visit list ? Learn more to sign up : weareraisingmen.com/bubblemow/ I pick from the long list of schools on my list . (These pictures are from previous school visits I made)

That's part of good governance. Florida knows they are at-risk of big hurricanes so they take steps to prepare for them. California knows they are at-risk of wildfires, but their leaders had other priorities. The panic now is the result of failures leading up to now.

While I am not a Yale University psychiatrist, I will tell you that I would be suspicious of advice that includes distancing yourself from family and friends based on political affiliation. On one hand, you are cutting off key elements of your support network, and on the other hand, you are isolating into a bubble of your own design. It is important to validate our ideas and beliefs in the context and spectrum of the full marketplace of ideas. Avoiding difficult conversations is not sustainable for long-term successful relationships.
