Are the years going by faster??? Seems so! Another season in the books. Delighted to have added to the win column. Excited to have been back at East Lake…. Definitely some more fantastic memories for the rocking chair one day. But, before then, still much work to do and the never ending quest of trying to find ways to be a little bit better again next year! Thx for the support on and off the course #team🌹

I’m curious — how did it work? I’d imagine the lead was originally followed up with by an SDR, and got 3-5 emails in a sequence, hopefully got a few calls also, and they either didn’t respond back or the SDR heard back and categorized as not interested. What did an AI SDR do differently here? Trying to understand if the AI SDR has some magic that would make a lead convert better than a human, or if the human process is just bad and there are not automated emails, no phone calls, etc. Genuinely curios :)

AngelList Equity revenue is growing fast, but we don't have a single sales rep. Sales calls are fielded by our engineering, product, and design team members (many are prior founders) between design sessions and merging Github PRs. Companies don't want to talk to sales reps. They want to talk to the person who can solve their problems. So when we get on a call, it's not a sale - it's a problem solving session. Then we often end the call 10 mins early to give the founder back some time.

@lucy_guo @JonDishotsky All good points — but to be fair — if you’re a high flying fintech and only look at net revenue, then you can’t make fake ARR charts bragging about how you’re one of the fastest growing SaaS companies ever — so I can see the downside for those founders.

I do not know how so many founders get this wrong. Annual Runrate = Revenue in Period (Y) x # of periods (Y) in one year GMV = # of transactions x average order value. GMV =/= revenue in marketplaces. And net revenue needs to include expenses. Credit card processing fees, pay out fees, CC dispute fees, chargebacks, etc. It's not just GMV x take rate 🤦🏻‍♀️

Nobody wants to switch their HCM system (or any system really) 2x in 12 or even 24 months, so important to make sure you think about where your vendors are going vs just where they are today. Low R&D investment = same legacy product for years to come.
Parker Conrad@parkerconrad

Rippling will spend as much on R&D in 2024 as Paycom, Paylocity, and Paycor combined. If you are a customer of those systems, you will be a victim of their "just keep the lights on" strategy for years to come.

@caddietales Playing golf on a nice course and with a great caddie, and without music, is about as lame as it gets

As we get closer to the end of the season, some random thoughts based on my experiences... - Best city for guests to come from this year was Dallas. Honorable mention to Cleveland, Atlanta, Charlotte, Boston -Colleges I have a better disposition toward because of their fans: LSU, Auburn, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Ohio State 🤢 -Favorite pro athletes are hockey players -Much prefer to caddie for non-famous regular folks though -Post-Covid life was felt this year with an influx of international guests -Had more groups with four women in them than ever before. It's a different experience and challenge/opportunity -Caddying in sweltering heat > cold and rainy -Every group is against slow play until the ranger comes and tells them to speed it up. Then they're all about fact they paid a lot of money not to be rushed 🤷 -Balls don't come out of the water after they're hit into it, no matter how long players walk around the edge of the creek or pond and look for it with a sad look on their face -Beef jerky was a real game changer at our turn window this season. Gonna think about it a lot this off-season -Music on the course makes loops more enjoyable -I will die on that hill -People from the south really are nice -I am grateful for how many players seem to be cheering on the Detroit Lions if they're team isn't a top contender this year -I don't know yet how I feel about so many men drinking seltzers instead of beers 🤷 -Most groups are awesome. But they're way awesomer when their bags are light -Lastly, club up, pick up when necessary, but never give up - there is always a next shot!

@TeddyNwachuku @Rippling @deel Hey @TeddyNwachuku -- I'm sure you're looking for 3rd party validation with your post, but I'll have someone shoot you an email to see if you're open to a call. IMO, best to check out a demo of both Deel and Rippling and see for yourself :)

@Dame_Lillard Anyone that knows anything about basketball couldn’t be more pumped for you and to see where you land / what you do next. You need to be playing in games that matter, that’s what the fans want. Onwards and upwards for one of Oaktown’s finest.

Going to a top 5 college is under-rated Where I went (Rice) is ranked 15th but I might as well have gone to Chico State in the eyes of investors & peers Going to Stanford / MIT / Harvard / Yale / Princeton is ~10x more valuable

@rchase @deel Hey @rchase — FYI that we support all of the above. We support US payroll and can migrate ppl off Gusto easily, we have our own PEO (like Justworks), and we support paying international employees and contractors (like Deel). Will have someone on my team reach out to schedule.

For payroll I think we're going to stick with @deel for international employees (EoR) and contractors but for US we're going to switch from Gusto to either Justworks or Rippling in order to get health insurance benefits
