At 3 a.m., the night refuses me sleep, not because the darkness is kind, but because it mirrors the suffocating void we have become as a country.
Bola Tinubu’s speech yesterday was not a policy address; it was a confession. Cold, arrogant and dripping with the mediocrity we have learned to expect, it exposed the man who wears the title of president yet carries no heartbeat for the people he rules. There is no plan for our lives, none for the bread we cannot afford, none for the futures we are watching rot.
With shameless pride he once declared himself 100 % heir to Buhari’s despicable legacy, chest puffed, conscience anaesthetised. Yet tomorrow, his hired voices will spin the fairy tale that he arrived to “correct” the very ruin he helped crown. The contradiction is not clever; it is obscene. It is the kind of lie that slaps every suffering face and dares us to call it governance.
I am not angry alone, I am afraid. Afraid for my children, for every Nigerian child whose tomorrow has already been auctioned to fund the banquet tables of this government. They have no blueprint except for themselves. No vision except their own survival.
And in that naked truth, hope does not flicker. It dies quietly, mercilessly, while the rest of us lie awake wondering how much deeper this grave can still be dug.

Under this administration, we’ve seen people use carrots and watermelon to make stew. Market women now slice yams into tiny portions just so people can afford them. Even spaghetti is sold in bits.
This is the reality Nigerians are living with. @inecnigeria must not enable a return to power under these conditions. Amupitan should resign.

PRESS STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ADC ANNOUNCES EXPULSION OF ERRING MEMBERS FOLLOWING NATIONAL CONVENTION
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the expulsion of several members following resolutions reached at its National Convention held on April 14, 2026, in Abuja. In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the decision was taken after the adoption of a disciplinary motion against members found to have acted contrary to its constitution and values. The affected individuals have ceased to be members of the party with immediate effect and are now free to explore other political platforms, while the ADC affirmed that any party willing to receive them is at liberty to do so. The party reiterated its commitment to discipline, internal democracy, and the rule of law.
The full statement read:
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) wishes to inform the public that, pursuant to resolutions reached at its National Convention held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Rainbow Event Centre, Garki, Abuja, the Party has approved the expulsion of certain individuals for acts deemed inconsistent with its constitution, values, and disciplinary framework.
The affected individuals are Hon. Leke Abejide, Nafiu Bala Gombe, Mr. Kingsley Temitope Ogga, Mr. Don Norman Obinna, Mr. Kennedy Odion, Mr. Clement Ehigiator, Mrs. Stella Chukwuma, Patrick Ambut, Johny Tovie Derek, Duke Dick, and Elias Adikwu.
This decision followed the consideration and adoption of a motion on the discipline of erring members, duly presented and ratified by delegates at the Convention under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator David Mark, GCON, National Chairman of the Party.
With this action, the affected individuals cease to be members of the African Democratic Congress with immediate effect. Consequently, they are now at liberty to explore other political platforms, and any political party that may wish to receive them is free to do so.
The Party reiterates its unwavering commitment to discipline, internal democracy, and the rule of law. The ADC will continue to uphold the highest standards of accountability as it consolidates its position as a credible and viable alternative for Nigerians.

The success of yesterday’s convention is a testament that the ADC in partnership with the Nigerian people is courageous and determined to take out the Tinubu-led undemocratic government, and this is non-negotiable.
We must strive as a party and as a people to achieve our goal by working together against all odds. Like I said at the convention, we must be decisive and rally around a viable candidate. We must stick together and show this wicked and unreasonable tyrant government of the APC, out of power.
Nigerians have suffered enough. We will work with the majority of Nigerians to restore dignity to our country and people, and ensure that safety of lives and property of our citizens and residents everywhere in the country is sacrosanct. We will work to restore democratic ideals to our dear country, to bring to bear a government that is transparent, responsible, and accountable to the people.
