@soigomaa Man, threads like these tear me up. I am blessed to have had a good childhood and to have parents close by. I’ve also semi-recently had my first child. I feel the bittersweetness of watching both my parents and my boy getting older. Caught in the middle. Life is strange.

After a certain age, your parents slowly become your children. They ask simple questions, repeat stories, and depend on your patience the way you once depended on theirs. Very few understand this role reversal. What looks like innocence or inconvenience is really time coming full circle. Don't correct them harshly. Don't rush them. Care for them the way they once protected you. This is not a burden. It is repayment.

@ronbski3 @ValerieAnne1970 @Rach4Patriarchy Hate to hear that. So what did you guys do? Did he stay home with mom with plans to wait until kindergarten? Trying to plan this stuff out for our son as well. Hoping the wife will get to stay home soon.

Jordan Peterson is awesome. Fortunately I am in a high demand industry and the more I work the more I make. We never even considered anyone else raising our children. I guess it helps we started off that way. At this point we would be losing money if she went back to work. We put our first born in preschool just to prepare him and socialize and it was terrible. The teacher had no patience and my son started crying as soon as we dropped him off. She snatched him up put him inside the door and walked off to let him cry. Not a single comforting word to him. My sister in law was watching the cameras and said they snatched him up during the day too. This is in a the effluent neighborhood and a highly regarded preschool. Of course, when they set him down behind the door and walked off, leaving him crying my wife immediately pulled him out. I went down there and threatened to destroy them online. Be careful out there people.

Jordan Peterson shares a truth most modern families don’t want to hear: “Daycare under three — especially in the first year — is really not advisable. There isn’t any form of care that can replace a mother’s care in those early years.” He calls it “quite remarkable” that we’ve engineered a world where staying home with young children has become a luxury for most families — “as if by design.” Decades of unchanged research shows the critical attachment window in the first 3 years is uniquely supported by consistent, responsive maternal care. Disruptions here correlate with measurable increases in stress reactivity, behavioral issues & emotional difficulties. The question that is frightening to ask: Have we made motherhood incompatible with economic survival on purpose? Parents (especially moms of young kids): Do you feel this pressure — that staying home feels like a luxury you can’t afford? Or have you seen the difference in your own children between early daycare vs. being home those first years?

The father determines the sex of the offspring because he can contribute either a X or Y chromosome (mothers always contribute X). Studies have found that men who work in high-stress environments tend to produce more X-chromosome-carrying sperm. It's believed this is an evolutionary adaptation. During prehistoric times, when a tribe was faced with hardship or disaster, it was beneficial to have more daughters since they would grow up to become mothers and ensure a stable population in the future. When it comes to reproduction, a single male could do the job of a hundred, at least in principle. So it makes the most sense to have more daughters than sons. This property carried over to modern times. High stress (as one might experience in combat or while working a physically demanding or dangerous job) triggers the hormonal changes in a man that favor daughter-producing sperm.

I share about 100 yards of drive way with my ~70yr old neighbors. For some reason he’s obsessed with knocking down the center grass in the middle of the tire ruts and covering it with gravel. He talks about it all the time, probably 30% of all conversations I have with him are about this. He’s asking if I want to pitch in for more gravel, etc. When I put my parents in a guest house behind the barn, my dad started talking about it too. He got some roundup and sprayed his section of road. Am I missing something here? I see no problem with it. It looks fine. It occupies 0% of my mind. I’m prepared to spend 0 dollars to remedy this “problem” What is happening?

I've been there. The IT guy was actually trying to keep things light. I cant tell you how many times I've gone to someone's desk, who swears on every person they love that there is a massive problem and there isnt. I think it's usually because people are rushing and overlook a step or type stuff incorrectly. But when I show up, they calmly do it to prove it's not working, not realizing it was a user issue the entire time. The tech was trying to minimize the issue so the job doesnt think there is this massive technological issue. So essentially, F this judge.
Fight With Memes@FightWithMemes

Watch this IT guy handle a tech issue for an arrogant judge. Then watch Karen the judge turn on him and threaten his job. 🤡:"Thanks. Get out of my courtroom..." 🤡: "Find his supervisor!" *torrent of profanity* I wonder if he takes his bad day out on the public, too?

👀 @CrimsonDesert_

I get the Crow helmet and chest in Crimson Desert and I think, "Hmm... where do I get the cloak, gloves and boots? 🤔" so I give in and I look it up. Yeah... 😒 I'm looking everything up from now on cause there's no way I was finding all those other pieces without help. 😐
