@soapcorriefan @JenniferD92 I agree Carla's love for Lisa is above anything she's felt for anyone. Carla has always made her feelings for Lisa clear as day and she's never wavered, even when they split.

@JenniferD92 Carla’s love for Lisa just hits different, it’s nothing like we’ve ever seen from her with anyone else before 😭

I think people are finally starting to realise that the whole “Swarla romantic spring” was just another one of Kate Brooks’ little enjoyable rides.
We’ve got Connie, Roy basically burning alive, and wait for it, Lisa can’t find her warrant card 🤣
This is the first successful lesbian wedding in Corrie’s history, and instead of joy, build-up, excitement… as we know we get a murder as the backdrop.
I wanted better for Swarla. I wanted better for the representation.
If anyone can hand on heart say there has to be drama on their wedding day to keep people watching… I’ll eat my hat.
They’ve had four months to rebuild Lisa’s character, to give us depth, accountability, even a hint of remorse for not believing Carla, her supposed soulmate, over Becky. Instead, we’re stuck going round in circles.
And this whole “you just don’t get Lisa, she was abused” argument is tired. We do get it. What you’re not getting is that the show hasn’t actually told that story.
Manipulation? Yes. But coercion? That’s never been clearly confirmed on screen, has it.
The way it’s been written is messy at best and misleading at worst. For people who’ve genuinely experienced coercive control and saw parts of themselves in Lisa or even Carla, that lack of clarity isn’t just frustrating, it’s disrespectful. It blurs something that, in real life, is very real and very serious.
I think there needs to be a bit more understanding that not everyone is naive or obsessed with impressing people.
For some of us, what Carla and Lisa’s story means and meant, runs much deeper than that. It’s about our own history, our experiences, and finally seeing parts of ourselves represented on screen.
But whatever.

@soapcorriefan Oh, my god, what's the world coming to 😉 4??? ridiculous 🤣
I actually find her extremely attractive, 😅
The only thing I hate is the delusional comments 😂 we'll keep doing us bud 👍
English

@mel_wickenden I agree😂it’s like talking to a brick wall.
There’s only 4 of us that feel the way we do, apparently and we’re also Lisa haters😊
English

@libbage55 @megsswain 💯 Libby. For me, they've ruined her credibility. I fail to see why. It's tough enough understanding why they thought sleeping with B was needed, now this...geez 🤔
English

@megsswain I’m getting kind of tired of them putting Lisa in the position of looking incompetent. Now Jodie has stolen her badge? Really?

@soapcorriefan I adore both actresses and both characters and absolutely fell in love with their love story - until the lack of loyalty Lisa showed Carla during the Becky shitshow. I'm trying extremely hard to comprehend why that happened, but unfortunately I've almost given up.
English

It’s terrible. It feels like it’s easier to just show them happy post-Becky and move on, but the constant subtle Becky mentions are unhelpful unless they’re actually going to address the actress calling the storyline coercive control.
I get why they want the happiness as the 4 months of that story were horrendous.
English

People were expecting a serious conversation about coercive control, yet everything on screen seems to be doing the complete opposite 👍🏻
Monday and Tuesday with Connie were sweet and actually felt promising and I still don’t think the baby was needed for them next. But by Wednesday and Thursday we’re back to subtle digs about Carla’s past, “jokes” about it, and now it’s Christmas Eve.
It just feels like poor writing and, frankly, quite insulting to people who have experienced coercion and manipulation. Connie’s arrival could have been a really positive storyline if they hadn’t tried to brush the abuse under the carpet. I get for many people it is positive and I respect it.
Lisa was in bed with Becky on Christmas Eve and yet people are still debating whether she was assaulted. How is that up for debate?
The storytelling is muddled, and that’s the problem.

@CarlasConnor1 @brigitte72895 Felt the same way. Unfortunately I think that's how Lisa rolls at times. Does seem to come across as an excuse for some of her comments. Not great at accountability as we know
English

@brigitte72895 Yeah they’ve moved on and Carla was reassuring Lisa it was ok for her to talk about Becky. I just don’t think the joke Lisa made about Carla’s ex’s was needed.
English

@swarlaluvrxxxx Why would they feel stupid? That’s a ridiculous statement to come out with. Just because she agreed to have the baby for awhile doesn’t erase the whole 4 month Becky arc fo a lot of people, let’s be real and not ignortant shall we. 🫠 #swarla
