Beautiful 30th John F. Enders lecture given by @DulacLab today about the neurobiology of sickness and social behavior. Especially loved seeing the work of talented friends @melonievaughn_ and @zurisullivan featured!!! 🧠

If SCOTUS was serious about their ludicrous “colorblindness” claims, they would have abolished legacy admissions, aka affirmative action for the privileged. 70% of Harvard’s legacy applicants are white. SCOTUS didn’t touch that - which would have impacted them and their patrons.

Before you begin your thinkpiece, the Supreme Court DID NOT strike down Affirmative Action Admission preferences for legacies, donors, employee families and special recommendations are still allowed The Court struck down Affirmative Action For everyone except WHITE PEOPLE

I wanted to share some of my thoughts on today's Supreme Court decision on affirmative action:

Today the Supreme Court ruled that race-conscious admissions in higher education are unconstitutional. Ending race-conscious admissions will exacerbate the racial wealth gap and entrench racial disparities that persist within our higher education system and our broader society.

LMAO just learned that UC only considers grad students part-time, and they think we’re working <20 hours per week (hence the low pay). NEVER have I been told to work only 20 hours per week, and in fact I’ve been criticized for only working 40 some weeks.
