@S_N_SH_E_ you don't have to stop. that's the cool part. one thing is building side projects for the sake of building, and other is to build something cool for yourself

@ForHumanityPod as cool as AI is... let's be real, nobody wants something or someone to control their future (AI is and will change it)

These AI graduation speeches getting booed are a big deal. It’s deeply revealing. The people making AI have no clue how the people they are making it do really feel about it all. They are dangerously deluded by their Bay Area echo chamber. But they’re about to learn. You cannot take our futures without our consent. The rejection of runaway AI has begun in America. And our young people leading the way is a great thing. Hear them. The volume is about to get much louder.
Alex Kantrowitz@Kantrowitz

This is incredible. Artificial intelligence getting booed out of the stadium in any commencement speech it’s mentioned. Maybe telling college students AI was taking their jobs wasn’t the best strategy. Must watch —>

are you doing enough? have you ever asked yourself that? Well, I do a lot. Back in my 1st and 2nd year. I took a big step, while everyone else either went all in on DSA or Dev or ML or Web3. The usual path. I went into Robotics. Had 0 priority robotics knowledge, applied at a team and somehow got selected. I was amongst the best robotics minds, and also the ones who were passionate about it. I liked it but passion? Haven't found yet. Regardless, I worked onsite daily after classes, 9pm to 1:30 am and full days on weekends. Not a very wise decision right? Maybe, I was conflicted back then. All I wanted was to learn something new, it was my curiosity, but at the same time I knew I wanted a good job and this isn't something that I can pursue for years. Anyways, I spent 1 year doing that. Did no DSA/DEV all that time. At the end results matter, but atleast you know you have your best, maybe in wrong directions, like in my case And every day I went asking myself, Am I doing enough?

@shtetlite @justalexoki They're toxic to work with. They've been conditioned by their colleges to focus on mental health, microaggressions, self-care, gender ideology, equity, and dozens of other things their coworkers do that are "problematic" and nobody wants to add that to their team.

i get some anxiety not using the smartest-available model/settings. but sometimes i dont mind if it's really slow. i wonder if we should focus more on a price/speed tradeoff relative to a price/intelligence tradeoff.
