Spent hundreds of hours in a 10x10 room with whiteboards and nothing else on the walls. A standing desk that never got plugged in, because I was completely locked the fuck in. Boardwalk is our best work yet. We’ve been building as a team for 5+ years in DeFi. Innovating and exploring new ways of doing something onchain, every time. The path here was long, hard and would have broken most people. We’ve seen countless builders and teams come and go over the last half-decade+. Some burned out, others got rich and became lazy. Few remain and even fewer at the same protocol or with the same team. It’s an entirely new landscape. Our team’s longevity and proof-of-work is one of our greatest strengths. ELI5: What is Fee Protection? Most token launches create fees when people buy and sell. The idea is simple: As trading happens, some of those fees should flow back to the people helping support the token economy. Tap "Show more" to read where most token economies leak value. But for most launches, those fees are only generated on one specific platform or liquidity pool. So, that means if trading activity moves elsewhere, the community supporting the economy may no longer benefit from that activity. Sophisticated traders and bots understand this very well. They can use advanced strategies to capture value for themselves while contributing little, if at all, back to the community supporting the token. So even when trading activity is strong, long-term participants may receive far less value than expected. Boardwalk approaches this differently. It's called Fee Protection. Fee protection prevents this issue from occurring, and it's built directly into the token itself instead. This means as trading activity happens, value continues flowing back into the economy. LP participants earn. Issuer-designated recipients receive fee-flow. The ecosystem continues strengthening around the token over time. The crypto market structure bill has PASSED the Senate Banking Committee with a bi-partisan vote! Historic day for crypto and for the future of digital assets in America. Grateful for the countless hours from lawmakers and staff to strengthen this legislation. Big improvement from where we were in January on rewards, tokenization, DeFi, and CFTC authority. I'm proud we stood up for our customers in that moment, and the bill is better because of it. Looking forward to a bipartisan law that cements the US as the world's crypto capital. Let's get CLARITY done.
