This explains what Lee Kuan Yew observed in 2011 when he said: “I have to speak candidly to be of value, but I do not wish to offend the Muslim community. I think we were progressing very nicely until the surge of Islam came, and if you asked me for my observations, the other communities have easier integration – friends, intermarriages and so on, Indians with Chinese, Chinese with Indians – than Muslims. That’s the result of the surge from the Arab states. I would say today, we can integrate all religions and races except Islam.” This specific attitude is anathema to pluralistic democratic societies. If the government tolerates Islamic exceptionalism, then the social fabric frays which destabilizes society. And if you think totalitarian ethnostates would welcome the refusal to assimilate, may I remind you of what is going on in Xinjiang, China.

Thanks, @KanoongoPriyank ji, for raising this issue. If FSSAI were really this serious about technicalities, India would not be flooded with adulterated food. Fixing the food system takes work. Filing an FIR is easier.

This is why I love statistics. If we look at 1995, India’s rank of 35th looks stellar compared to today. However, the game was rigged by the math. In 1995, TI only ranked 41 countries. India was 35th out of 41, ~85th percentile from the top. By not adjusting for the total number of participants (which grew to 180+), the raw rank creates a false nostalgia. Being 35/41 is actually worse than being 93/180. TI’s historical data often fails to highlight this denominator bias, making developing nations look like they are in a freefall when they are actually stagnant/improving. I can also speak about the methodologies used by them but that requires a longer article (maybe for the weekend).

When @ncbn was in Opposition, he said that this person(YS Jagan) would face miserable treatment. Everyone thought that Chandrababu Naidu would go against the Law & Order and implement Vindictive Politics. But now, YS Jagan is facing family conflicts, a credibility crisis, and every press meet is becoming a comedy show and all. No one expected this treatment from Chandrababu Naidu. x.com/manishini9/sta…

India only has ~487 airports. The United States, on the other hand, has 19,482 (~5,000 of which are public). LAT Aerospace wants to close the gap, increasing air connectivity across India with air-stops (short runways specifically intended for uSTOL aircraft).

“I wonder if they’ll shut the temple down.” One thing unites provocateurs @RutgersU & @TPUSA—it’s anti-Hindu hate. The DOJ informed BAPS that it was closing an investigation with no findings of wrongdoing and no criminal charges, and several plaintiffs withdrew from a civil suit citing being compelled to file. Yet @guardian traffics lies about the largest Hindu temple in the US. Understand what unites leftist academics and Christian nationalists and all of this makes sense.

A recent piece by The @guardian makes a striking claim that Dalits are “purportedly” not allowed to worship in BAPS temples because of their low caste ranking. This claim is false and not supported by factual evidence. Let us refresh your memory 🧵theguardian.com/us-news/2026/a…

What an achievement. Very few people talk about this. But this is massive. Power sector reforms have worked wonders. The government(s) must be congratulated for this. @MinOfPower How this was achieved. 1. The "Late Payment Surcharge" (LPS) Rules, 2022The government notified the Electricity (Late Payment Surcharge and Related Matters) Rules, 2022 on June 3, 2022. This created a strict legal framework that: Frozen Arrears: Classified all outstanding dues up to that date as "legacy arrears." EMI System: Mandated that these arrears be rescheduled into Equated Monthly Installments (EMIs). As of February 2026, utilities have successfully paid 43 EMIs, with some even pre-paying their debts. 2. Enforcement through the PRAAPTI PortalThe PRAAPTI (Payment Ratification and Analysis in Power Procurement for bringing Transparency in Invoicing of generators) portal was used to monitor payments in real-time. If a DISCOM fails to pay an EMI or current dues, the rules allow for the regulation of power supply, meaning their access to short-term power markets can be restricted. This "stick" approach enforced financial discipline. 3. Structural Reform Schemes (UDAY & RDSS) UDAY (Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana): Focused on financial restructuring and reducing operational losses (AT&C losses). RDSS (Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme): Launched in 2021 with a ₹2.83 lakh crore outlay. Funding is performance-linked, meaning states only receive money if they meet specific targets for loss reduction and smart metering.

A big boost to ‘Ease of Living’ and ‘Ease of Doing Business’… It’s a matter of immense delight that Parliament has passed the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill 2026. This Bill strengthens a trust-based framework that empowers our citizens. It marks the end of rules and regulations that are outdated. At the same time, it ensures speedy disposal of cases, reduces litigation burden with decriminalisation. What is also noteworthy is the consultative approach with which this Bill was drafted. My compliments to all those who have given their insights towards the drafting of the Bill and supported it in Parliament.

@ajaypeddi @MNageswarRaoIPS @ncbn @AndhraPradeshCM went through the previous BHEL project presentations. Difference between hydro generator vs hydro motor. Reversible francis turbines, etc. Bhel has done previous projects with the exact wording that is there in the tender. Can't figure out why they are asking for the change.
