@meteoman23 @torarchive At the moment, I'm using Python with various packages such as pandas to read the text files containing tornado data, pyart to get the radar locations and read the data, nexradaws to acquire the data, and a dozen others to maintain stability whilst processing the files.

As of lately, I've been working on a little project of sorts. All I can say is Bassfield, MS looks just as impressive in high temporal resolution as it did in any other loop. Project consists of utilizing @torarchive database to automatically download and loop tornadoes.

@wxKobold I'll take a look this week. I switched to a longer pulse after the heavy rain passed, so it's possible

@EWolffWX DOW6 sees something similar. Ignore 0 & 180 deg azimuth data.

Generally we see low Zdr and high KDP in tropical systems (large concentration of small drops), so interesting to see these relatively high Zdr values along the southeastern portion of Helene’s eye 🤔

Synced RHI and PPI as tornado was exiting town, peak radial velocities are well over 70 m/s in this scan.

@CocoasCola @DOWFacility @karen_kosiba Sorry I didn't put estimated heading in until a bit after deployed. We were roughly facing 90 degrees true azimuth. Great loop!

@CocoasCola Preliminary data indicates max 1-sec gust of 27 m/s (60 mph) at 20:41:43 UTC and 1 m above ground level (AGL)

@meteoman23 When do you think the POD data will be QC'd and posted because I am very curious as to what it sampled because it looked to be in the perfect path to sample the very strong rear inflow jet on the Greenfield Tornado.

@CocoasCola @DOWFacility @karen_kosiba Ah, yes the realtime data may have an additional non-zero heading correction applied (not accurate). Regardless, you probably have a more accurate correction for the data you have

@meteoman23 @DOWFacility @karen_kosiba I had to correct it about 133.7 degrees clockwise from the way it was oriented and then I lined up the clutter from homes and buildings to those on the map nearby to confirm that it wa atleast remotely accurate to being properly northed. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Finally got around to northing the DOW6 data from @DOWFacility thanks to the BlackSky satellite imagery that was posted today. I'm gonna need further confirmation to make sure it's northed to the best accuracy @karen_kosiba

It looks like I may have found the unfortunate trio of wind turbines that fell victim to the Greenfield IA Tornado... Zero Isodop returns from DOW6 show them being there before the vortex passes directly over them and them disappearing. Gonna need confirmation @karen_kosiba

The Doppler on Wheels #6 out in west Texas today as part of the BEST program and getting radar data with at least 4 #tornadoes today. @karen_kosiba and her team do a great job getting valuable data. @weatherchannel @mikebettes #TXwx
