Asked what he's doing to prevent climate change, Doug Ford mentions electric vehicle production & transit, but also claims building highways is a climate change solution "to get people home quicker, that they don't have to sit in gridlock and smell someone else's fumes." #onpoli

@MazzucatoM @JeffDSachs I've been a huge fan of your work for years but seeing this take from you stings. It's intellectually vapid to create this rivaling hypothetical context. If the US acted aggressively, they should be judged on those terms. But given current context, Russia is acting unjustifiably.

I’m NO Putin fan, but let’s be honest: What would the United States do if Mexico, on it’s border, joined some sort of Russian and/or Chinese security alliance? @JeffDSachs provides wise advice: US should compromise on Nato to save Ukraine.

A wise government would listen and respond politely, taking protesters’ complaints seriously and patiently explaining why covid restrictions are necessary for the time being. Justin Trudeau has done the opposite econ.st/3gTbgMq

@DROettl And folks forget the big-tent nature of the Lib party means a sizable chunk of their base would be quite uncomfortable with an NDP alliance. The more left leaning (and online) Liberals forget how relatively conservative their non-online counterparts are. The centre would move etc

@jlpobrien The pure higher-education based divide for the U.S in the 2010s, and apparent irrelevancy of economic class as a predictive indicator for vote intention is not what I would of expected.

@cathmckenna Start with the book on the right! Why We're Polarized is excellent.

WOW! This is the best plan I've seen so far by anyone for a kids' UBI. @MittRomney has just proposed a fully universal and permanent monthly child allowance of $250-350/mo. Clawback is achieved via taxes just like stimulus should be! And it replaces TANF!

@DROettl Eh, the signs have been there the whole time tbh. Started with Fife praising Trump's initial handling of the outbreak weeks ago.
