Wife and I are both retired. We deliver Amazon through Amazon Flex for something to do and extra cash. The average route pays about +/- $70 depending on length of time block … several of the drivers we know are doing it for the same reason. There are also several drivers who are much younger (20s-30s) and cannot speak/understand English much, if at all. They often disregard or don’t understand the safety signs posted around the warehouse loading area. Scary to think how they are out on the roads. Also, these people are obviously getting financial assistance from somewhere … who can survive on $70 a day as their primary income? Several of us have talked about it, including the Amazon warehouse staff, but no one dares to say the obvious out loud. I’m sure they’re not here as U S citizens, yet receiving assistance with housing, food and who knows what else? We also have friends who are ER nurses. They’ve told us it’s common for the illegals to come to ER after normal hours for any type of medical care … from a runny nose to anything else they may need … because, of course, they know they’ll get treatment and RXs without being denied. Yet our state government will deny of this is true. 🙄 When I think of the amount of money I’ve spent on taxes during my lifetime and see the obvious abuse it’s nauseating and infuriating 🤮😡
