Inspired by the Little Slammer of @RossBakerGolf (and the Intimidator Ti 400), my crap question of the day: When was the last true design innovation in golf? Not materials, not methods, but design. Let's see if we can find a few genuine modern firsts.
@KipHenley Genuine question. How do you go putting with the leading edge of a 9 iron? I am a little on the twitchy side (claw helps me), but for some reason, I can hit putts with the leading edge no problem. Question not solution.
I HAVE to come up with a new way of tricking my hands to not knowing they are hitting putts. I may have exhausted all avenues except left handed. I always find a way but man I’m getting towards the end I think. I have tried
Left hand low
Looking at the hole
Looking at a spot
Counting out loud
Doing a clear key in my head during my stroke
Finger down the shaft (like Gidge)
Fat grips Skinny grips
Eyes closed
Forearm smasher (I’m one of the originals on that)
All the now illegal ones
The Luke Glover style
Eyes open until impact
Heavy and light putters
Saw and Claw
Nicklaus right arm pivot
Making a farting noice with my mouth during my back stroke (knew an old dude that did that and he was MIDNIGHT on every putt)
Now accepting ideas.
What y’all got ? I’m tired.
