@KySportsRadio Come to Canada! Cal brought the team to Windsor in like 2014, played 2 or 3 Canadian university teams and there is a Canadian league now, could play the Windsor Express team. 6 hour drive from Lex and they could have 2500 people at every game in a nice newer gym at Windsor.

The forerunner of all Studio Hosts and also versatile enough to be a ⭐️ in the booth as well. Historically, no sportscaster had more power & control of a Network than Brent from 1975 to 1990. You don’t get there without making some enemies & critics and he did. However, he gave my generation that did Studio work, and PXP the blueprint for success at both, and better opportunities. I’m exhibit A of that as upon my full time hiring in 86’ @espn I was the first to have studio & remote obligations written into my contract. Cake 🎂 for Brent! Man, it appears the double whammy of Texas privilege plus an injection of it “just means more” has gotten well into Sark’s bloodstream.
I called plenty of @Big12Conference games the last few years and while no one is arguing that the @SEC may still be ahead top to bottom, the suggestion the Horns who lost to Florida, and can we talk about Kentucky could beat the guys in Lubbock with “our 2’s and 3’s” is preposterous. If Bill Little were alive he’d be on the phone saying, “Steve please dial it back?”

I so miss seeing Dan when visiting The Big House! We were colleagues in his return trip to @CBSSports and his supreme understanding of the game! He’s one of the guys that could read a setup by a right guard and then tell ya where the ball was going on a 1st down play. Guys like Dierdorf didn’t have all the high end technology to work with in every game, but ya always learned when listening to him. He’s so deserving of any and every Hall of Fame in my book. 🎙️🎧📺🏈

@michael_laferty @NotJ0NRoth I am old enough to remember the Great Alaska Shootout. It was that, Maui and the Preseason NIT that opened up college basketball. That Champions Classic is what started the demise of Maui. Duke/Kansas and Kentucky all playing? And UNC playing on that naval ship? Damn!

@mchlrd2 @NotJ0NRoth I hate to see good events go by the wayside. I remember growing up Great Alaska was the thanksgiving tournament and Maui was Christmas. I think some time back in the 90s Maui shifted to thanksgiving. Probably helped cause Great Alaska to die off

@michael_laferty @NotJ0NRoth I doubt you will be. This season has a nice group led by Arizona and BYU. The sad part is Clemson/Colorado State/Ole Miss/Providence/VCU and Washington round out the bracket. That tourney used to packed with top 25 programs.

NO FRIDAY GAMES: The SEC will remain as the only power conference to not play any football games on Fridays. Sankey said "For everybody that thinks we just grab money, we could grab money just by putting games on different nights of the week," when asked about Friday games. This allows for high school football in the south, which are massively important community events, to continue to have it's own stage.

He evolved from the Ray Scott school of broadcasting. Ray of Green Bay fame in football and Twins fame in baseball was the first of his (radio)generation to learn that TV didn’t require as much verbiage. Pat was an analyst then, and he listened and learned. A true gentleman who acclimated to every role he had in broadcasting. Cake 🎂 for Pat in Heaven. Part of it was brought on by critics giving the Networks a hard time about start times listed as the top of the hour when the games didn’t start until 7 minutes after. That along with hurrying up and moving the game along so our affiliates won’t get too pissed off about local news.
