@patrickbetdavid La La Palooza 1996 in Arizona. When I was 16 years old, it was incredible. Rage Against The Machine that year was pretty cool too.

Mark Zuckerberg engineered a custom hardware device for his wife in 2019. No clock face. One faint light. A one-hour window. Priscilla had a specific problem. She'd wake up in the middle of the night, check her phone for the time, and the number itself spiked her anxiety. 4am meant worry about the kids waking soon. 5:30 meant calculating whether to just get up. The information was the trigger. Most engineers approach "can't sleep" by adding things to the bedroom. A meditation app. A Hatch alarm. A weighted blanket. A sleep coach. Mark removed the variable that was running the wake-up loop. The Sleep Box sits on Priscilla's nightstand and shows nothing for 23 hours a day. Between 6am and 7am it emits a single faint light. Faint enough not to wake her if she's still asleep. Visible enough that if she's already up, she knows it's okay to start the day. The rest of the night, dark. No clock. No time display. If she wakes at 3am she has no data to push her cortisol up with, so she goes back to sleep. He wrote the firmware and built the enclosure himself. No team, no procurement, no Meta resources. He posted the result on Instagram and said it worked better than he expected. The design move most CEOs would never run is the personal one. The instinct is to outsource a family problem to a specialist. A sleep coach. A doctor. A consumer electronics startup with a Series B and a marketing budget. Mark intervened at a specific link in the chain. Time data hitting Priscilla's brain at 3am was what broke sleep. The phone got moved off the nightstand and replaced with a box that physically cannot deliver that data. The box has no clock. That's the entire product.

Thank you for chiming in. Your employees should really be trained on how to handle allergies. The gal was completely lost. She was very nice and she attempted to help but she went to read the tallow label if there were nuts in it. I appreciate her checking something but the way to handle it is to check if the bread was made in a facility that also processed nuts to see what nuts are in some of the shakes that you make and how everything is sanitized and cleaned and separated or if there's not a protocol in place at all. It's just not safe for them to eat there due to not having procedures in place.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Says Trump ‘Does Not Sleep’ “You never want to be on Air Force One on a trip … going to Asia or something … Trump is just always up and talking, and he'll have them go wake staff up if they're asleep because he wants to talk to them.”

The problem is their staff is really poor and untrained. They couldn't answer basic questions about the menu and when I asked about how they treat food allergies for my kids, they looked like a deer in the headlights and could not navigate through the basic question for a restaurant

Windsong Ranch and similar communities in Prosper are beautiful. No it's not the lagoon. Rather, their trails are a hidden gem but it's just not worth the price point. However, you do not need to pay a premium to access them because the trails are open for public use (and rightfully so). With the level of new construction ongoing right now and planned over the next few years in Prosper/Celina/North Frisco/McKinney and open enrollment at top school districts, I just don't see elevated prices holding up in that area. The biggest limiting factor here is that there are very few new highly paid jobs being created within a reasonable commute coupled with remote work continuing to scale down. Be especially cautious and diligent in evaluating homes priced over $800k. The play right now is to buy a home in a nearby family friendly neighborhood/area that's projected to develop and opt for private school or open enrollment at a nearby highly rated school district e.g. Frisco ISD. Take the $200k to $300k that you save and invest it or pay off your home faster.

"In the future, the robots will make so many robots, that they will actually saturate all human needs, meaning you won't be able to even think of something to ask the robot for at a certain point, like there will be such an abundance of goods and services. There'll be more robots than people. I think everyone on earth is going to have one humanoid robot because you would want a robot to watch over your kids, take care of your pet, take care of elderly parents. I'm very optimistic about the future. I think we're headed for a future of amazing abundance, which is very cool. Definitely we are in the most interesting time in history." 一 Elon Musk

I am genuinely curious what changed so dramatically that Elon went from "inflation and government spending will collapse America" to "government should write endless checks to all Americans and this will create deflation" in, like, 14 months The supposed reason is "AI" but that didn't suddenly emerge in the last year. Yet his views on this have taken a full 180 in that same timeframe. To the point that it sounds like a different person entirely. Still have not seen a coherent explanation.

@akm515 It's probably because values are actually dropping, sadly. I have refinanced two people this year that are both coming out of pocket $50,000 just to be able to do the refi due to the lower value over the last year or two.

Descendants of Conservatives Will Be Over 80% of America By 2100 🇺🇸 This chart shows America's demographic destiny if today's fertility trends continue. Liberals are having fewer and fewer kids. They are a death cult. Meanwhile, Conservatives are actually building families at the highest rate in decades. We are winning the long game in a landslide. As long as we raise our kids right and pass on our values, America’s future looks absolutely glorious.

NEW 🔴 The U.S. has set 2 key conditions for restarting talks with Iran in Pakistan, according to diplomatic sources. First, the Strait of Hormuz must be fully reopened before negotiations resume. Second, Iran’s delegation must have full authority from the IRGC to finalize a deal.

Anthropic's Mythos is alarming Powell and Bessent. They just summoned top CEOs to Washington. Mythos can break into your phone, laptop, and bank. It wasn't told to. It just found ways on its own. A 27-year-old security flaw. Fixed in 10 minutes. Another survived 5 million security checks intact. Trump spent a year trying to fire Powell. Today his Treasury Secretary called him for help. This is the biggest AI story since ChatGPT. We are not ready.

Sam Altman has admitted he is on a waitlist for a procedure that would digitize his brain. The procedure would kill him. He considers this an acceptable trade for digital immortality. This is the person making decisions about the future of artificial intelligence for hundreds of millions of users. A man who views ending his own biological life as a reasonable step toward uploading his consciousness to the cloud. These are not the priorities of a stable leader.

saying "hello" to Claude on the Pro plan now costs 2% of your entire session usage one message. "hello, how are you?" that's it. this is why people are mass migrating to Codex right now because its literally impossible to reach limits anthropic needs to fix this before they lose the crazy amount of developers they just gained

Trump delayed Iran strikes with the 10Y Yield at 4.45% 4. Trump further delayed Iran strikes with the 10Y at 4.45% Trump knows the bond market is existential.

Just so everybody's clear. All this is is a collateral-based second mortgage (backed by crypto) that is being used for the down payment. In a way, not much different than people taking a margin loan or collateral loan against other forms of investment accounts. Instead, in this case, they're having to pledge more than double the amount of the second mortgage. The benefit is the person gets to keep their crypto in the market, but they'll be paying interest on the second mortgage.
