Akina Mama wa Afrika@amwaafrika·
The Board of Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA) announces that Eunice Musiime will step down as Executive Director, effective 30th May 2026, after 10 years of visionary, feminist, and transformative leadership. Eunice has led AMwA with brilliance, courage, and unwavering feminist commitment. Under her leadership, AMwA has strengthened its role as a Pan-African feminist leadership development organisation, supporting women leaders through the African Women’s Leadership Institute (AWLI), advancing women’s political participation, SRHR, and championing economic and social justice across the continent. The AMwA board has appointed Carmeliza Rosario and Sarah Nannyondo Okello, both nestled in the soul and rhythm of AMwA's work, as interim co-directors for nine months. Transitions are part of the rhythm of feminist organising. Eunice’s departure is not an ending, but a continuation of the collective journey. Her leadership has left AMwA stronger, more resilient, and more deeply rooted in African feminist wisdom. We invite our partners, allies and sisters across the continent and the diaspora to join us in celebrating Eunice Musiime’s extraordinary contribution.

Today, we held a Community Implementation Focus Group (CIGF) meeting to review visibility materials, including posters aimed at raising awareness about cervical cancer among female sex workers and other marginalized women in Uganda. The discussion focused on ensuring that posters and other communication materials accurately reflect the realities and settings of female sex workers, while clearly communicating the signs and symptoms of cervical cancer, its stages, risk factors, prevention measures, and available treatment options. @MedicalCollege @UgandaCancerIns @TASOUganda @MakSPH @MinofHealthUG @uhruganda

Watoto Church
Watoto Church@watotochurch·
Celebrating Watoto Church in Bweyogerere. Originally known as East, this campus was among the very first four Watoto campuses, a true testament of God’s faithfulness over the years. From humble beginnings in Lugogo (UMA Hall), to Namboole Stadium, and now its home in Bweyogerere (along Jinja Road, Kazinga - opposite Hassan Tarrabi stage), the journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Today, over 3,700 people call this campus home, with 100+ cell families growing in faith and community. We honour Ps. Joe & Jackie Ogwal for their faithful leadership during the past few years, and warmly welcome Ps. Jimmy & Suzan Segawa as they step into this next chapter. To everyone who has been part of the journey from the very beginning to those who joined along the way, thank you. You are the story. Join us this Sunday at 8am, 10am, or 12pm. For the rest of our locations, visit watotochurch.com/locations #WatotoChurchBweyogerere #SpiritLed #SpiritEmpowered

Today was truly powerful. We had the privilege of hosting a side event, “Defying the Pushback,” at the Women Deliver Conference 2026, and it created a meaningful space for honest, lived conversations. Voices from the sex work community and gender-expansive individuals from Uganda and Nepal shared deeply personal experiences that have shaped their resilience and resistance against the rollback on the SRHR. We also heard inspiring perspectives from partners like Global Fund for Women, who spoke about on how they have embraced progressive, feminist, and participatory grant-making such that the assistance reaches those that need it most. This was further enriched by insights from Act Church of Sweden, highlighting how they have supported partners working in humanitarian contexts and standing on the frontlines to defend SRHR. This discussion felt like a grounded, hopeful conversation about resilience, solidarity, and reimagining how we can continue to support SRHR movements through a collective action to counter. #DefyingThePushback #Womendeliver2026 #WD2026 #ChangeCallsUsHere @WomenDeliver @GlobalFundWomen

Join the conversation shaping the future of HIV prevention in Uganda. Save the date, stay safe, and come excited. Bring your curiosity, your questions, and your voice. #OurShot #Now #community

SAVE THE DATE | OUR SHOT Date: 30 April 2026 Time: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM A new chapter in HIV prevention is here, and it demands our attention. What is Lenacapavir? How does it work? Who is it really for? And what will access look like for our communities? Far more than conversation. This is our space to ask, challenge, learn, and shape the future together. Join me for a community conversation that moves beyond headlines to honest dialogue grounded in lived experience, curiosity, and collective voice. We will be joined by a panel of 4 experts who have consistently put community at the heart of their work, people who have long stood with us, listened, and advocated for what matters most. If prevention is evolving, then so must we. Not as spectators, but as participants, so come curious. Come bold. Come ready to speak. Because the future of HIV prevention should never be decided about us, but with us. Save the date. Bring your questions. Be part of what comes next. The X Space link will be shared in the next post, along with full panel details. But also stay locked in on UKPC’s X page for more information and developments.  #OurShot #Lenacapavir #HIVPrevention #CommunityVoices #UKPC #XSpaceConversation

What is the Feminist Compendium on Africa’s food sovereignty, you ask? The Compendium is a collection of African writers' articles articulating what Africa’s food sovereignty looks like and advancing feminist ideologies for transforming Africa’s food systems. This compendium will move us to question narrow conversations about food security that focus only on access and availability and move us to Food Sovereignty, asking deeper questions: Who controls food systems? Who makes decisions? Whose knowledge counts? Who benefits from production, trade, and policy? It centers self-determination and sovereignty. #foodsovereignty #feministperspectives #ARFSD12

This week, we joined our partner, @themamanetwork in a global campaign on destigmatizing abortion. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the need for collective action to ensure abortion is recognized as essential reproductive healthcare. No life should be lost due to restrictive laws and polices that criminalize abortion #destigmatiseabortion #reproductivefutures @themamanetwork
