me as well! as dev rel, i unintentionally became a content creator. i tried to hire someone else to do it, and didnt understand why it was so hard at first. but then the more I thought — it’s hard to hire someone who also knows which technical terms are important. how much needs to be communicated across. Who the technical audience is, etc. if you yourself are not part of that as a clipper/editor. it’s very different than hiring a wedding video editor just for aesthetics. And explains why tech content creation firms charge such a premium so continuing to learn editing and content creation myself :/

@downloadlos Clips have been the hardest part of our content pipeline. I think it's hard to share the "knowledge" about what makes a good clip with someone else in an applicable way. Brand voice and knowing what your audience wants is largely the founder's intuition. Hard to delegate.

How am I 2 degrees away from Elon musk and 10 degrees away from hiring a clipper that’s worked for MrBeast, Clavicular, Togi I consistently talk to the most impressive creators, Instagram influencers, YouTube stars, and they all somehow have a hard time hiring editors/clippers etc I do get though that if you’re clipping for Clav and making 30k/mo, you have no reason to move outside of that Does anyone have thoughts on this?

not to add fuel to the @OpenAI vs @AnthropicAI debate … @bcherny @sama
TensorZero@TensorZero

You might be overpaying 5.3x+ for Claude Opus 4.7! Our CEO @gabrielbianconi found out that on tool-heavy workloads, you're paying 5.3x more for Claude Opus 4.7 than GPT 5.4. The common metric is to compare cost per million tokens. But different providers use different tokenizers, and we found the same input produces wildly different token counts. Read our blog below to find out how you are being charged and how to actually know what you're paying for. 👇

2/2 republishing of original 1996 MIT CSAIL paper coining calm technology - how periphery technology can move to central and back without being all consuming - predicting the rise of ubiquitous computing like airpods, iphones - other tenets of calm tech include: extending your perception of the world + making you feel at home medium.com/re-form/the-co…

we’re re-entering “calm computing” theory from 2010’s ! originally defined: designing technology where the interaction occurs in the user's periphery i.e. peaceful iPod, think solar punk bright tech future rather than all consuming Facebook and TikTok feeds but with Jony Ives new screen-less device and slop/algorithm fatigue, the next gen of design is going to be calm technology again!
Tony Fadell@tfadell

Spotted in the NYC subway. “Zero screen time.” An iPod Shuffle ad in 2026. When we built the iPod, the goal was the technology disappeared and you could have your music wherever you were. 1,000 songs in your pocket. Now we’re living through a moment where people are actively looking for ways to disconnect from the infinite feed, algos, and constant notifications. That doesn’t mean technology is bad. It means the best technology understands when to step back. Not every problem needs another screen, another menu, or another layer of complexity. Constraints create freedom (read: @DavidEpstein new book Inside the Box). And often removing features creates a better product than adding them. The future of technology shouldn’t just be more engagement. It should help us be more human.

hosting my first workshop this wednesday (may 13th) at cornell tech !! 🫢 the theme is “vibecoding as self-expression & software as art” & the challenge is to create a piece of software where: 1. Novelty > utility 2. Creativity > practicality during the workshop, I will share my design & coding process end to end, work with you to realize your idea & teach how to post on social media to blow up your product! links below ⬇️🫶

@tfadell wrote in a LinkedIn post to make up constraints to invent new products I.e. honing into a simple music listening problem with the iPod and making the Nest packaging first before the product. how does you know which is the right constraint to choose? what are signals of real pain vs speculation?
