🚨BREAKING: The SCOTUS ruled 6-3 that Louisiana's congressional map, which included a second majority-Black district, represented by Democratic Congressman Cleo Fields, was unconstitutional because it was drawn too heavily on race. Chief Justice John Roberts argued that the district was drawn like a "snake that stretches more than 200 miles." The decision weakening the use of the Voting Rights Act in redistricting cases could allow GOP-led states to eliminate Black and Latino electoral districts across the South, which, based on analyses by voting groups, could increase the Republican House majority by 19 seats compared to 2024 maps. At this time, it is unclear if red states will be able to seize today's decision in time for the 2026 midterms.

Former attorney Adam Hoffman sexually assaulted a 6-year-old boy for three years. He was charged with a first degree felony for continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Hoffman does not have to register as a sexual offender and will serve 60 days in jail.
