What are the chances that the clause restricting IT exemption only to those military veterans who were disabled while serving, & left their respective military branches on being invalided, would be amended to include those who retired? I’d wager 0. #KeepDisabilityPensionTaxFree

This is Ranvir Singh Yadav. - In 1973, he was a bus conductor in Delhi (DTC). - He was accused of issuing a ₹0.10 ticket instead of ₹0.15 and keeping 5 paise. - The DTC filed a case against him. - In 1976, he was dismissed from his job. - He fought the case in court for decades. - In 1990, he won in the Labour Court. - DTC kept appealing, dragging the case in the High Court for over 40 years. - DTC spent ₹47,000 to recover 5 paise. In 2016, the Delhi High Court dismissed DTC's appeal and directed it to pay Yadav ₹30,000, along with ₹1.28 lakh as gratuity and ₹1.37 lakh as CPF. This is how an innocent man’s life was wasted fighting for 5 paise, while ministers commit fraud of crores and live comfortably in London.

I wonder who was the petty, vile and small minded person in the @FinMinIndia who suggested to @nsitharaman that Indian economy can only be saved by taxing the smallest of relief given to a soldier with a disability acquired during the course of his service to the Nation. A disability that will continue to have implications for the person. When the room is not labelled “Muslim Women’s Prayer Room” then who the hell are you to tell anyone when and how they should pray in that room. When and how she is reminded of her faith is NONE of your business - it is her democratic RIGHT to pray whenever she pleases in a designated prayer room. She is not like the millions of Namaazis raising their rear ends on PUBLIC streets and choking all the traffic to deliberately inconvenience everyone. Madhvi Latha has exposed a very important phenomenon - for far too long Hindus have been too afraid to use public prayer rooms in airports because Muslims always take over these areas and act as if they own these places. No more! It’s time for Indians of all faiths to openly practice their right to prayers and rituals in these designated spaces instead of always having to grovel and be intimidated by aggressive Muslims. It is our prayer room too! And we will use it whenever we feel like. Dekhte hain kaun hume rok sakta hai!
