@royvanrijn Why not increase your price? You are more valuable, get more work done, so the client can pay more. Needs to hire less people in return

1) Let people use AI at a huge discount/loss … we are currently here … 2) People forget how to think, code, reason, write 3) Raise prices aggressively, people can’t go back… 4) 💰 Profit 💰

What does observability look like under pressure? We’re about to find out. Dash0 is excited to bring you Hotservability: a live interview inspired by the Hot Ones show, where the questions get deeper as the sauces get hotter 🔥 Join us at Booth #760 during KubeCrawl on Tuesday, March 24th at 17:30. Michele and his guests will tackle increasingly serious observability topics while attempting to survive sauces that seem engineered to burn holes through stainless steel. We’ll reveal the participants soon! Register in advance to enter the prize draw: dash0.link/hotservability… You won’t want to miss this one. #KubeCon #Observability #CloudNative

@jessfraz Curious, I find myself having to do the last 10% manually because of e.g. a minor bug or performance improvement. How do you get this done with just agents? Or is that just a matter of giving very detailed instructions?

Here is how I do and don't use agents, idk who this will help but its worth spelling out my preferences and why: - I tell the agent to code how I would do it - If the language is one I am _very_ familiar with I feel comfortable getting it to generate very good idiomatic code that is indistinguishable from my own and doing large refactors - If the language is one I'm not comfortable with, I keep the pull request under 100-200 lines of code for the reviewers sanity since I can't discern the nuance of good/versus bad code - ALWAYS read/self review the code before opening the PR, the onus is on the AI wielder to make sure the code is up to par with what they would do themselves before inflicting their teammates - never auto open PRs because of ^ - if you do all the above you can avoid slop and not annoy your peers my name is jessie frazelle and i have not touched code in an editor since october.

Shameless plug; maybe give @dash0hq a try @PostNL . We'll help you surface these kinds of issues and our cost is probably lower than what you're losing on revenue 😉

Sometimes I hate being a dev who can debug JavaScript because I see the absolute careless code another dev pushed to prod. It is impossible to print package labels on the NL Post site (@PostNL) b/c of this unhandled null breaks everything Use TypeScript and handle nulls, OK?!

The AI hype is absolutely real for software engineering. If you have not had your opus moment yet, I suggest working on a side project that does not matter and letting AI take the wheel. Just to experience (in a safe space) what is possible.

@bobbygaal @levelsio Or does this tax change not only apply to the income tax, but also capital gains? (Box 3) Because IMO that's just as bad, since you're obliged to pay tax according to the fair market value, which for a large stock portfolio can get substantial.

@GergelyOrosz @EdgarCerecerez We are using Deel (moving to Remote). When a country becomes large enough a separate entity is created because then directly hiring becomes more cost efficient. People also get equity, handled fully outside these platforms. So no reasons this wouldn't be possible.

This is a reply to asking why Vercel no longer hires in Spain. It also explains why "remote" positions are often "remote in Country X" (e.g. US, UK the most frequent ones.) When a company employs someone remote in Country Y, they need to follow Country Y regulations...
Guillermo Rauch@rauchg

@javierguzmandev @cramforce Sadly we had to exit Spain, insanely difficult to employ and grow our company there. We tried!

🎉 100 episodes, and a great cause to celebrate! To mark the 100th episode of the Dutch Kubernetes Podcast, the team hosted an 8-hour livestream with one clear goal: raising donations for De Voedselbank, the Dutch food bank. 💚 Miel Donkers from Dash0 joined the celebration, and we were proud to support such a meaningful initiative that brought together community, technology, and generosity. During his session, Miel talked about Dash0 and the insights it provides into OpenTelemetry data. He also covered its compatibility with Prometheus, and how integrations enable Dash0 to proactively manage Kubernetes environments. Huge thanks to De Nederlandse Kubernetes Podcast for organizing such an inspiring event, and congrats on episode 100! 🚀 🎧 Full recording linked in the comments. #kubernetespodcast #voedselbank

💥 We built Dash0 to handle all your OpenTelemetry data – logs, metrics, and traces – in one clean, fast, scalable platform. But to make that possible, we needed a storage solution that could keep up. That’s where @ClickHouseDB came in. In this new post on the ClickHouse blog, Miel Donkers breaks down the real story of how we built our observability backend: - Why ClickHouse was the natural choice from day one - How we designed our schemas to support deep correlation and high-cardinality data - Smart storage tiering with S3 - Benchmarking, sampling, indexing – and all the hard lessons learned along the way We go deep. Really deep. So if you're scaling telemetry, tuning ClickHouse, or just curious how observability actually works under the hood – give it a read. 👉 Link to the full blog in the comments!

Let Dash0 Do the Heavy Lifting—Meet Triage 🚀 You are staring at a flood of telemetry data. Errors everywhere. The pressure is on, and you need answers—fast. That is why we built Triage in Dash0. Don’t manually sift through logs and traces, hoping to spot a pattern. Let Dash0 do it for you: Triage automatically detects correlations and key differences, helping you uncover the root cause in seconds. OpenTelemetry provides a rich vocabulary to describe systems through metadata, and Triage is just the latest in a long list of ways Dash0 takes full advantage of it. You do not have to know exactly what to look for—just highlight what seems off, and Dash0 will show you why it is interesting. Troubleshooting changes completely with Triage—once you experience it, you will not want to go back. Triage is now in open beta for tracing, with logging and metrics on the way. We are constantly improving, and your feedback is key. Try it out and let us know what you think! 🔗Link in the comments!

🚀 Dash0 Raises $9.5M Seed Round to Simplify Observability for Developers 🚀 We’re thrilled to announce that Dash0, the first OpenTelemetry-native (@opentelemetry) #observability platform, has raised $9.5M in seed financing to bring simple, standardized observability to modern, cloud-based businesses! This round was led by Accel (Harry Nelis, @hnelis), with participation from Dig Ventures (Ross Mason, @rossmason ) and angels including Guy Podjarny,@guypod (co-founder, Snyk), Guillermo Rauch, @rauchg (CEO, Vercel), André Christ, @christ_andre (CEO, SAP LeanIX), Geeta Schmidt,@geeters (CEO, Humio), Dion Almaer,@dalmaer (Product, Augment Code) and Florian Leibert, @flo (GP, 468 Capital). With observability more important than ever in the $50B observability and monitoring tools market, Dash0 was built from the ground up to unlock OpenTelemetry’s potential. Here’s what sets us apart: • OpenTelemetry-Native: No proprietary data—fully standardized, vendor-agnostic insights using OTel Resources as context • Transparent Pricing: Pay only based on the data sent and fully understand the origin, giving developers complete control over observability costs. • Intuitive and Flexible UI: Customizable dashboards, views, checks and powerful filtering and query building with full support for #PromQL, PersesDev, and integrations with Slack and more. Dash0 has been designed to make observability easy, affordable, and actionable for developers worldwide. After a successful beta with users like catchHR, Chargetrip, and Porsche Digital, Dash0 is now fully launched and available to all.
