@mikoo8765 @TheTravelerDev those are not quests at all. Its merely a prompt that is completed if enough interactions have happened or if a condition was met. Its extremely finnicky and since theres 100+ of them players eventually learned to be efficient around the system. Its an illusion.

Anyone have examples of cool AI uses in a game? I don't meant a coding assistant or creating graphics. I mean an AI that modifies gameplay in realtime. NPC's with freeform dialogue? Puzzles that adapt to the user's weaknesses? Infinite decision trees?

@MjTheHunter Get a group of close friends and have them play it in front of you. It’s always a fun time, and close friends will be honest with you about the player experience. They’ll find bugs, they’ll find pain points, and you’ll all laugh and have a great time.

Gamedevs, what's your advice for when you start to doubt every decision you've made about your game so far?

@popp4_ That’s only cause MC is horrendously made. Simple metadata tags could swap the texture / modulate the color without increasing block quantities.

the right one would add 9 billion new blocks for every combination of carpet and wood

@sylessae @PixelArtJourney How though? I’ve been trying for years, but haven’t found any success. No course I’ve found online has given me tangible results. I’ve been stuck at a kindergartener level for 10 years.

@CDisillusion Respectfully, you’re an idiot if you think the collar is casting that shadow. The shadow is sharp at the top and feathers into light at the bottom, the occluding object is clearly above the shadow.

@thissmay @drake_theguy JRPGs are a very front-loaded genre. Making the systems from scratch is a pain in the butt. But once you have the core functionality, adding content on top is fairly easy. But then comes the worst part: all the art and animations. 😰

Guys is fantasy knight that good and historical knight that bad?

@UmbrellaFoxx @valvesoftware I’ve been waiting 10 years for the steam controller’s next iteration. I bought a few of the OG’s in 2016 and never used another controller since. This launch was a spit in the face of all steam loyalists. Why were pre-orders not available when they were announced?

@valvesoftware Really cool trying to buy the controller, only to get told I’ve tried too many times, after being allowed to add the $110 to my wallet. I’m incredibly depressed. Have waited years for this release since wave one Steam Deck.

Steam Controller ran out faster than we anticipated, and we hate that not everyone who wanted one was able to get it. We’re working on getting more in stock and will have an update on expected timeline soon.

@Undyinglord1 @valvesoftware Limiting purchases doesn’t fix anything, why don’t people get that? Scalpers are just gonna make dozens of throw away alts. If the people who wanted them were able to preorder them last year, problem solved. Scalping can’t exist if there was a way to reserve one.
