I just joined Rain as Director of Content. After 8 years in this industry, mainstream adoption has taken way longer than I thought. Rain's growth is the clearest sign that it's finally arrived. Here's the story so far 👇 It's rare to see a company raise three rounds in ten months, capped by a $250M Series C at a ~$2B valuation, led by @ICONIQCapital. Two things made that possible: 1. Stablecoins are the next evolution of money 2. Rain figured out how to make them useful for everyday payments They did it by fusing stablecoins with the systems people already use, rather than replacing them outright. Card networks were the starting point. Rain merged the trust and distribution of Visa and Mastercard with the speed and efficiency of stablecoins that move 24/7. With a swipe or a tap, anyone can now spend a stablecoin balance at 175M merchant locations worldwide. Rain card infrastructure now powers 100+ live programs and processes billions in transaction volume. They let people in emerging markets save and spend in dollars. They let neobanks launch global financial products on day one. They let institutions reach customers that legacy systems simply couldn’t. From there, Rain layered in a full suite of services that lets any company plug into stablecoins with a single integration: onramps that bring businesses into the new format for money without friction, and rails for moving funds anywhere in the world. Next, Rain is making stablecoins usable by AI agents, as they increasingly spend on our behalf and transact with each other. All of which is part of something bigger: the rise of the financial internet. A system that runs 24/7, works the same for someone in Nigeria as it does in New York, and serves humans and AI agents alike. In this role, I get to help tell that story. Thanks to @rooqster and @cnaut for having me aboard. And thanks to @nickycucins for your persistence. Follow @raincards to watch the financial system evolve in real time.

Rain made the @Forbes Fintech 50. Tokenized money doesn’t matter if it can’t be spent. We build the infrastructure that makes it usable at scale, from compliant card issuing to global payments. Respect to the partners and teams pushing this transition forward 🙏 forbes.com/sites/jeffkauf…

I joined Rain just over a year ago to build a team obsessed with one thing: our partners' success. As an infrastructure provider, when they win, we win. The reality of hypergrowth is that the business constantly outpaces the team. This fundraise is about delivering even more - more support, more tailored experiences, more products, more licenses - so partners launch faster, scale aggressively, and continue to build the coolest and most innovative products that stablecoins can enable. Onchain rails have proven their value. Rain is making them usable by everyone, and keeping them invisible in the process. Today, we’re announcing our $250M Series C at a $1.95B valuation to keep building. 🧵

Karta is turning heads and raising the bar. This ultra-premium card delivers all the luxury perks (like lounge access and a WhatsApp concierge) without requiring a SSN. Under the hood? Rain’s stablecoin-native infrastructure. This is exactly what our platform is built for: helping fintechs launch the next generation of financial products quickly and compliantly.

IN NEWS: Rain raises $58M Series B to scale its stablecoin-powered card issuing services. We asked Rain’s founders (@rooqster & @cnaut) why a gift card analogy perfectly captures today’s stablecoin challenges: “You can buy a Red Lobster gift card, but if you can’t use it anywhere else, is it really money?” That limitation is exactly what many issuers face. They add: “A lot of folks come to us when they launch a stablecoin and realize, ‘Oh wait, I can’t use this anywhere. What if there was a partner that lets me and my customers use this in more places?’”

We’re not retrofitting the old financial system. We’re gut-renovating it. @rooqster breaks it down in The Sleuth: most “stablecoin infrastructure” is just lipstick on a bank. Rain is building for what’s next: stablecoin-native rails, top to bottom. thesleuth.co/p/trade-spacex…
