The Mill Institute
@millatuatx
We turn down the heat on controversial topics so educators and students can untangle complex issues together.

I just participated in a session with @millatuatx where my fellow high school classmates and I discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In Gen Z discourse on this conflict today, there is absolutely no room to ask questions and seek understanding of differing viewpoints. Instead, there are unprecedented levels of hatred, cancel-culture, and polarization. But in the exercise and discussions I had today, regardless of our personal biases, we all sought to understand and consider the nuances of this conflict and the experiences of both sides. If we can't teach and allow young people to have civil, open discussions about contentious topics, our society is not truly free and won't survive.

@uaustinorg @millatuatx @AlphaSchoolATX It was amazing to be a part of this – it's amazing when students can have productive and respectful discussion with each other!!

At UATX, hard conversations are possible. Check out scenes from today's Viewpoint Diversity Challenge on the conflict in the Middle East, hosted by the @millatuatx with @AlphaSchoolATX at our Scarbrough campus. Learn more about the Mill Institute👉 uaustin.org/mill

Spent time at UATX yesterday, whose inaugural school year starts in September. A politically diverse group uniformly committed to keeping the new university focused on truth, not politics.

We are excited to announce our sponsorship with @millatuatx of renowned thinker, blogger, author and illustrator Tim Urban @waitbutwhy's March 5 speaking engagement @SXSWEDU! bit.ly/42MJIj1 #SXSWEDU
