In 24 hours we will see the first takes to prison people based on their choice in an underdefined question.

I can't believe that this dumb button-problem is now at the stage of explicit name-calling. Stupid, virtue-signalling blues vs evil, short-sighted reds.

Today I re-iterate: I hate MoEs and we are wasting time on them.... Let's unite and call a global ban on MoEs please. Please 1M+ salary researchers: do better... credits to @IlysMoutawwakil for the graph:

@kryml0 A twitter poll is not representative of real choices, and dont forget that sacrificing yourself can be selfish in the eyes of your loved ones.

@kryml0 This is just an extreme example of the lack of details. There are less informed people. different cultures, etc. If you asked the question with 1k random but capable western people, I expect 95+ percent red, making blue a bad choice.

@KeyTryer Ok, I know you're smart, explain it to me. Why would you risk guaranteed survival, at no cost, for everyone?

@Diatribe333 @lavinia_colzani @Drjusmar @mykola That's why it's a bad question. The right answer is based on the interpretation. Risking life to save a virtue signalling wannabe hero is dumb. Doing the same for babies is a moral duty. On top of that you can expect the majority to follow the same logic influencing the outcome.

@lavinia_colzani @Drjusmar @mykola The question says pressing the button is a vote, and everyone has to vote. You are free to come up with your own hypothetical, but in this one it's clear that babies have to vote too.

Ah this one again. To my dear rationalist friends who are so confused as to why anyone would press the blue button: I don't want anyone's blood on my hands. "But if everyone just presses red then everyone lives" yeah but that's also true for blue, plus no complicity in murder.
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

@VictorTaelin @JsonBasedman Thinking about it, public image can become relevant even in some RSI scenarios (before ASI hits, or if some humans who care about public opinion remain in charge). Without RSI they are playing with fire. They might still get away with it, but burning karma for nothing is dumb.

@VictorTaelin @JsonBasedman It depends. I wouldn't upright exclude a scenario where mindshare and their public image will play an important role in the outcome of the race. If they are right and RSI fully disempowers the majority of humanity, then it's indeed irrelevant.

@jt_kerwin @AndyMasley @AaronBergman18 My conspiracy theory is that this is pushed everywhere exactly to save big tech from bots. However it's still going to result in an Orwellian dystophy.

@Dan_Jeffries1 But that's worse, it means everyone with a lower margin gets priced out, increasing the difference in margins.

@ObamaGarak @truejuicepapi @DrJMoneyPHD On top of OP's response (which is correct) the fine was for the way they handled refugees. Here, Magyar talks about low skilled South Asian people who were mass imported by Orban specifically to work for peanuts.

@truejuicepapi @DrJMoneyPHD Didn’t the EU historically withhold money from Hungary because they wouldn’t take in refugees? I thought this was the main reason not to trust Magyar

If Magyar delivers on these promises then he will replace Orban's national-populism with a true blueprint for European nationalists. Immigration restrictionist (especially when it comes to "guest workers") and pro-EU, without vulgar populist messaging or foreign associations.

🇭🇺HUGE! Magyar Péter DECLARES a STOP on all Guest Workers by June 1st, 2026. "Its a system that can only be fixed by going radically in the complete opposite direction."

@ylecun @systemic_whisk @Dan_Jeffries1 Even if we trust more our governments, chat control is clearly meant to introduce surveillance on private devices and age verification is meant to end the anonymity on the internet. BTW, the latter is partially pushed by American Big Tech.

Earlier generations understood that everything politicians want to sneak in under cover of darkness is done through stop the terrorists and save the children. First they verify the children. Then they verify you. Today's generation not only don't understand it. They're asking for it.

The EU has unveiled an app to confirm users’ age online, setting the standard for verification technology as more countries consider laws banning young teenagers from social media bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
