Give the man the Super Bowl. It would be the most watched Super Bowl halftime show in history. It would be a cultural milestone. It would be a story of redemption. It would be biblical in terms of global impact. It would be era defining.
Bill Maher once asked: “Isn’t alcohol worse than everything?”
Andrew Huberman basically answered: yeah.
Zero alcohol is best. If you drink, two drinks per week is roughly the upper limit before risks start climbing — higher cancer odds (especially breast cancer), worse sleep quality, and gut microbiome damage.
Huberman isn’t a teetotaler. He says do what you want, but know the trade-offs. Drinking is already trending down as people realize the hidden costs. His practical advice: keep it minimal and offset any damage with morning sunlight, exercise, and solid nutrition — especially as you age when recovery matters more.
It’s a sobering reality check on that casual nightly glass of wine.
Where do you stand — strict limits, occasional drinks, or cutting it out entirely?
@FUTOCHIMPO I tried my best. Mine sticks to my wok so I made chicken fried rice with onions, egg, peas and carrots on my outdoor griddle. I was laughing at myself that I actually made it 😆
There is a heron called the Great Blue Heron where I live in Northern California. I have always loved herons in Japanese imagery! I can’t wait to show our local heron once I get a good picture.
@WelDemi161 Americans are pragmatic problem solvers and even try to bud into other strangers’ problems. That can be a good thing and occasionally it can be also bad thing. Maybe a good analogy would be sometimes, Americans like doing other people’s side quests.
Last week this place was a nightmare of rage bait
Now I just saw a thread of Americans giving advice to a Japanese user on how to make improvements on a peanut butter and Jelly sandwich
@WelDemi161 I regularly drive 1.5 hours just to eat Chic-Fil-A. Gotta have my Jesus Chicken. 3.5 hours plus is a “long drive.” I don’t consider flying unless it’s over a 10 hour drive.
