Yet in places where Christian retook Muslim lands, as Spain and parts of Eastern Europe, nativeMuslim communities disappeared. At least Islam has a legal obligation.

That's a selective reading of history. Ottoman rulers often protected Christian holy sites and pilgrims, but Christians were still subject to the jizya tax and legal restrictions that Muslims did not face. And citing the rebuilding of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre ignores that a Muslim ruler first ordered its destruction in 1009. The historical record is more mixed than this presentation suggests.

Theologian JD Hall to Tucker Carlson: The Muslim rulers didn't tax churches during the Ottoman period. They were very kind to Christians. As a matter of fact, they took care of our holy sites. Islamic authorities rebuilt the Church of the Holy Sepulchre three different times over the centuries. They had a law protecting Christian pilgrims on their journey. Nobody messed with the pilgrims.

The Trump administration has announced a massive diplomatic push to sell the Iran deal. Trump keeping him away at this time?" 3) Sources in the Netanyahu government have expressed exasperation that Rubio is traveling to pitch a $300 billion reconstruction fund and a framework that leaves Iran's ballistic missilles intact and actively reassuring Gulf states that accommodation won't hurt their survival, while completely ignoring Israeli concerns about the deal. 4) Instead of a face-to-face bilateral meeting with a visiting Secretary of State, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was forced to accept a remote phone briefing from Rubio. A procedural demotion and a genuine snub. 5) This comes as Israel has been forced by the US to stop advancing in Lebanon. The New York Times and Ynet published accounts of how the IDF has been given orders just to defend under extreme American pressure. A source I talked to in the Israeli Foreign Ministry told me, "this may be the worst case of abandonment Israel has experienced by the US in its history." There is a sense that everything is aligning against Israel right now.

No transcripts of communications between ship and US Navy have been provided. 90% of Iran,s oil goes to China. Reportedly over 100 Chinese ships have Jumped this blockade. Not one Chinese or Russian ship has been struck. Just because India has gone out of its way to be friendly with US, it has responded by attacking our ships and murdering our sailors. There is good reason to worry about the safety of our negotiators in Pakistan. The country is armed and dangerous and the government is not fully in control. Previous high level visits were short and they involved decoy aircraft, as when then-President Clinton surreptitiously changed airplanes so no one would know which one he was on. The USSS did not like President Bush going there in 2006. The Secret Service will be tested this trip. So too will the military that supports this mission. Pray for the safety of our negotiators, including the VP, and for their success.
