@mjax1995 @JakeDoesBooks It came out that she’d been misquoted in that article hence why it was deleted. She was reading the Odyssey but hadn’t finished it before her first draft of hers was complete - just the first draft. She definitely read the Odyssey but unfortunately, everyone ran with that.

Has anyone read Lies We Sing to the Sea? I’m considering buying Marchs Illumicrate for the Greek mythology items but the book has a pretty low rating on Goodreads, mostly from people that haven’t read it? I haven’t heard much about it so idk

Well at least one woman has all the audacity of a yt man. Lies We Sing to the Sea by @s_e_c_underwood is a retelling of The Odyssey, a classic she never read, but Googled. Her next book is a Faustian retelling. Think she read Goethe? Or just Addie LaRue?

@JakeDoesBooks @lauraelizawile I think it’s because it’s a retelling of The Odyssey, and she didn’t bother to read it, meanwhile Madeline Miller has a Masters before writing Song of Achilles. The author comes off as glib and opportunist, riding on the coattails of successful retellings.
