@TravisBOUND The 2019 team was predominantly Oshlosh West girls who open enrolled. North never had a strong "program", let's not act like this is some wild fall from the top.

In 2019, the Oshkosh North softball team went a perfect 31-0 and won a Division 1 state championship. In 2026, the Oshkosh North softball team will not field a varsity squad, forfeiting/canceling all varsity contests.

@HarveyApple1978 @bp22 The biggest fundamental flaw with this idea is taking large sums of money from the greatest capital allocaters in the world and giving it to the worst capital allocaters in the world.

@bp22 “The fruits of another”. Give me a fucking break. Most billionaires were made on the backs of people they underpaid in the name of profits AND a tax code that allows you to hide that money as you compound it annually. Tax the 1% now.

Stealing is human nature and at one time people thought, we have all these buildings we can build and all these crops we can grow let's tax these people at 100 percent plus(we'll take their kids too). Always an excuse to take the fruits of another. No different
Fuck You I Quit@fuckyouiquit

A 2% annual tax on that wealth would cover all of what we currently spend on Medicare without anyone else paying a dime. And that wealth would still continue to grow. We can't afford not to tax them at this point.

This is why fouls on rebounds should not count for bonus free throws. You can't expect a ref to give Texas 2 FTs to win on a physical play 90 feet away from their hoop, which is why they let this go. It should be called, but shouldn't give the other team a win either.
Chris McMillian M.E., CSCS ⭐️@CoachMcMillian1

This is not a foul. This is a wedge. A grown man physically pushed another man under the basket, and then went and made a play. Margins for winning are small. This is a big boy play.

@CoachDaul @CoachHPrice @Bound_wi Almost everyone wants it. I just think most don't understand the second order effects it would have. The weights are irrelevant tho because the real issue is it does not properly account for things that simple W/L % will never show.

@CoachDaul @CoachHPrice @Bound_wi Knowing the *exact* formula would actually be a bad thing as people could and would calculate the impact of specific games and could result in coaches/teams/programs altering outcomes and incentives. Whatever the formula, we shouldn't know the specifics. Just use a better one.

@Mike_Jagacki In a full rotation the weak point ends up being offenses making the extra pass(es) and eventually finding open man. This cleans up the initial threat and by the time 2 or 3 passes make their way, the initial on-ball defender is already there in a neutral closeout situation.

I struggle to see the benefits of peel switching into a full rotation. You still make it a 4 man rotation and minimize all impact on the ball. I get the merits on a strong side, keep it a two man rotation instead of a 4 man rotation. But the cons out way the pros for me when it comes to this kind of rotation.

@CoachDaul @CoachHPrice @Bound_wi Formula isn't hard to figure out. Sure we don't have the exact numbers, but what it factors and weighs heaviest is pretty clear- as well as the ways you can maximize for it. To your point, Massey Ratings, MaxPreps RPI, and Bound Index all far truer measures of strength.

@CoachHPrice Wisconsin's formula is a joke and is for some reason kept a secret to the public. @Bound_wi power index is by far the best and top it with the best coverage of the sport! In it's inaugural season nobody is close to their coverage of HS sports in Wisco.

@MattBredesen Yea I was making a joke but main point is in the grand scheme of things cost should not be a concern. It is a one-time cost that spread over the life of it is not actually that much.

As you all know I am in favor of a shot clock in High School Basketball. I feel the pro's far out weigh the cons. I think it simply makes the game better from experience. In my opinion, cost is the only Con to adding this element to the game, and there are ways to get around it

@ByRyanWood How come the "just play defense" narrative only applies to that side of the ball? But "just play offense" is wrong? If the offense isn't trying to score, then you aren't actually defending...you are playing a different kind of offense. Essentially a different game at that point.

Or, and here’s a bold strategy but hang with me, teams can play defense.

@ByRyanWood How about the WIAA get out of the peach basket era and implement shot clocks, like almost every other state.

@bballbreakdown Most likely this interaction is not caused by how a player is playing, but rather by how he is executing/listening or lack of effort. These guys are paid, so they are pros. I'm not a fan of the screaming coaches thing, but if it is effort (mental or physical) all bets are off.

It's always a good idea for the coach to have a goal with every interaction they have with their players. Whatever Pitino wants from his player, do you think this is the **best** way to get him to change the way he's playing?

@themancalledroy @Coach_Runyan @ByRyanWood No. Shot clock forces coaches to develop offensive systems that create reasonable looks and to teach/develop all of their players. "Working the clock" is code for "our offensive mindset is just don't turn it over and eventually they'll screw up".

@Coach_Runyan @ByRyanWood No everyone does not love it. I don't. I came from a small school. Won a state title. Never would have won the title with a shot clock. We won because we worked the clock. Didn't have to stall. Shot clock just forces bad shots.

@p_kittel @wiscoboy1982 @WisBasketballHQ Only if you elect to. The point is the situation for one or two conferences shouldn't hold back progress for basketball for the entire state. Large schools want it. Small schools claim they can't afford it, so don't force it on them.

Need a shot clock in Wisconsin Basketball. Let D1 and D2 have it. Don't make the small schools pay for it if they can't afford it.

It’s mind blowing to me that the amount of money pro athletes and teams are haggling over in free agency would be absolutely life changing to 99% of people. Scratch that. Several generations of lives changing. Dudes making 33 million are like, no I’m not going to sign because I want 1 million more. And that 1 million alone would be more than I could ever imagine. Just crazy to think about.

Jumping straight into AAU after a long high school season is both unsafe & irresponsible. Programs that truly care about the mental and physical health of their players understand this. Rest & recovery are essential for real growth. Basketball should challenge athletes - but it shouldn’t be a nonstop, year-round marathon.

Can a ref explain this call to me? Madison Memorial has possession of the ball and then passes to teammate who steps out of bounds and they retain possession? Anyone? We'll just ignore #22 blatantly using his hand to push the defender in chest while dribbling #wisbb
