I officially resigned from $ASPI today. I am stepping away due to personal and professional obligations that are likely to ramp up in the coming days and months. I truly appreciate being part of the team and I’ve learned a ton over the past 10 months. I wish the best to the team!

@SawyerMerritt Still not a fan of it obstructing the nav which the driver may need after a disengagement.

Yep, Tesla has officially added “Navigation” as a selectable disengagement reason in the just updated FSD popup in V14.3.2 (software version 2026.2.9.9). Picture from my Model Y screen:

@ray4tesla @SaniAminuMuham4 That’s good, but I don’t understand why they chose to deploy this on top of the nav rather than visualization part of the screen. A driver may need to see the route when they takeover over.

@mjreddyMD @SaniAminuMuham4 With v14.3.2, you can immediately reengage FSD and the pop-up message still stays there.

Reporting using the pop-up screen is much easier than using voice input. Love this new feature.

@wholemars This implementation will lead to people just tapping a random option to dismiss it and get the nav screen back.

Would be great to have AI just categorize all the interventions But that might eat up a lot of compute and not be as reliable as just asking humans today

@ray4tesla @SaniAminuMuham4 By definition it shows up when FSD is disengaged. And it hides view of the navigation- something someone may need when they takeover. Good idea, poor implementation.

@SaniAminuMuham4 Why risky? You only pick the option while FSD is engaged. It’s a quick glance and touch.

President Trump @POTUS needs to do something about the radical left plan to make our cars stop fully at stop signs. This biden era NHTSA policy of not rolling stops signs is just plain unamerican. Hope the president can make stop signs great again for self-driving cars.

@Scobleizer The most unfortunate piece of this drama is that @Tesla should have had a ground floor equity stake in @xai from the beginning. @Tesla was the AI jewel of the musk corps at that time and had meaningful brain drain of resources that went to @xAI at inception.

The case against an acquisition of a proposed merger of Tesla and SpaceX/xAI. For a Tesla investor: you will suffer for next seven quarters and sell out right when all Elon’s plans are working out. And scale of everything done by Tesla goes exponential. Right about then Optimus will start making itself at scale. I am expecting SpaceX to be coming too with a huge datacenter win (a string of datacenters to Mars, which means earth is covered) so not worried. Both have exponential runs ahead in my mind. For SpaceX investors. You are taking in incredible risk. Tesla will be in debt in seven quarters. Elon has my vote anyway. These two together will be an example of where an acquisition works out. One of the former AOL execs told me years ago their acquisitions made them billions. I have faith. But my money manager never sees the world the way I do. He always shows me the risks. And my friend Jeff was first CTO on Wall Street is worried for us investors. My argument is any dilution is still worth it. Within reason. The rocket is our future. And so is the robot. Elon has to convince all shareholders this is a good idea. I write this while my eight year old robot drives me home. We drove to the gold country. And back. Hours of smooth driving. Mostly. Just arrived back home safely. Looking at phones cause tragedy. Robot takes over whenever you want. Don’t you want to get to the launch pad safely? They belong together. But there are risks. Elon could go crazy. Oh, wait, he has always been crazy. You think it is sane to take on the auto industry? And a handful of others? Elon is my kind of crazy. He broke three laws when he gave me the first ride in first Tesla. We definitely were racing @jason. Street racing is illegal in California. That is why I love him. He takes risks no one else was willing to take. I will do whatever he tells me to. He has earned it over and over and even if screws us we will win. Together. The pie is so large. Also Elon has always supported me even when I had a bad reputation. And I still do. So he could whip me with a cable and I would still vote to merge, if that opportunity ever arises.
The Information@theinformation

Is a SpaceX and Tesla merger inevitable? @GerberKawasaki thinks so: "Ultimately, because they're so intertwined, the businesses and SpaceX owns the brains to the Optimus robot and all this, that it just makes the most sense for them to come together." "You've got sort of all these businesses together that create like a Berkshire Hathaway of AI…”

@yunta_tsai @lucaatalla @Tesla_AI Also this should not obstruct view of the map/navigation - why not overlay this on to the visualization portion of the screen in CT/3/Y?

Suggestion to @Tesla_AI @yunta_tsai: Add navigation to the options. I suspect it will be the largest bucket now.

@wholemars Why don’t they have it appear over the visualization? Over the map seems like an uncharacteristically bad design choice.

This why did you intervene dialog is pretty annoying actually. Every time I take over I have to try and fit it in some category? I wanted to back into my driveway to charge…. other I guess? maybe preference? and if i’m taking over I have to try and click this while i’m manually driving? concept needs refinement before going out to everyone I think. maybe have it auto dismiss after 10 seconds, or allow me to do it with voice or something. as it is now it makes interventions even more annoying not a problem if you use FSD the whole time, but annoying enough that it might even discourage some people from turning FSD on. it would be less annoying if my interventions fit cleanly into one of the categories!
