For years, Texas has repeatedly underpaid teachers, underfunded districts and over-tested students. It is clear TX leaders are not "failing" our public schools, they are undermining them. We must defend our children — our future — from corporate interests and divisive politics.

Don’t fall for “but the books are just under review”. GISD didn’t follow their own policy and removed books on Matt Krause’s list from shelves without a complaint etc. And then policy was abruptly changed so they could justify taking the books for an indefinite amount of time.

When are we going to call #SchoolChoice what it really is? It's Defunding Education. It's putting more of our tax $ into corporate CEOs pockets and less into our educators. We had a for-profit school in Sherman ISD called Edison Project. It was a colossal failure for our kids.

This was the word-for-word comment from a student at Granbury ISD’s school board meeting last night. This is critical thinking as a result of public education. Teachers, librarians, and books are wonderful things!
