WATER UPDATE for Kamloops residents east of Rose Hill Road: A major water outage affecting 19,000 #Kamloops residents will continue overnight after repairs to a critical main line failed on Tuesday. In an update shortly after 5pm, the city said the water system is not fixed and further work will be required on Wednesday. In the meantime, nobody east of Rose Hill Road is allowed to consume water. The city said more information will be shared when it’s safe to resume use. “Crews are preparing to begin filling reservoirs to re-establish water service to the impacted area. Impacted properties must continue to avoid water use to allow reservoirs to replenish,” the city statement said. “Once reservoir levels are stabilized, crews will proceed with repair work, anticipated to take place tomorrow morning. During this period, available water supply will be prioritized for essential use only in affected areas.” City trucks filled with potable water will be available 24/7 until Friday at the following locations: • Valleyview Arena, 353 Highland Rd. • Dallas Park, 5998 Todd Hill • BC Wildlife Park, 9077 Dallas Dr. Starting Saturday, potable water will be available daily from 6am to 10pm for at least five days. People are asked to bring their own containers.

In the 1980's, Canadian broadcaster Global found a loophole in Canadian broadcasting legislation. Instead of broadcasting test patterns on screen and losing out on overnight revenue, they could send a cameraman into the city to walk around and film the streets of Toronto. Global producers decided to create their own original music to accompany the show instead of losing out on licensing fees. Because the show was entirely "Canadian Content", this allowed Global to leave key primetime slots open to broadcast American content. The show was called Night Walk. Although Night Walk was created to exploit a loophole, the footage that was left behind now looks like a time capsule.
