@rachsyme finally, wandering towards home well past midnight & checking in a with a friend and former flame at my local bar to find he had reconciled with an ex gf, realizing I was genuinely happy for him & excited to see her again. Nothing earth shaking, but full of joy and surprise.

As someone who was personally "paralyzed in a devastating accident," I'd have liked to read more about the injured people in question. How do they take care of their partners? Do they feel comfortable having their spouses as their aides?

Because the world has failed to supply vaccines, only 1.2% percent of people in Africa are fully vaccinated against Covid, and cases are increasing rapidly across much of the continent. I don't have words to express how unacceptable this is.

NEW: Weekly update on variants in NYC is out. Delta now makes up 22.7% of cases, up from 5.6% in prior week. This should spur everyone who is on the fence to get vaccinated ASAP.
