I want to believe that we learned a lot from COVID, and when there is another pandemic, we will do better. What are the odds?

The problem is not people being uneducated. The problem is that people are educated just enough to believe what they have been taught, and not educated enough to question anything from what they have been taught. 🧠

@andybudd @usabilitycounts Any designer that wants to do more strategy should read Porter’s Five Forces first and take a course on corporate investment decisions. Strategy does not mean vision quests and sizzle reels. Those are activities done after a strategy has been set.

Every designer wants to “do more strategy.” Few designers understand what “doing more strategy” actually entails. Even fewer have demonstrated any obvious aptitude for strategy. As such “do more strategy” really translates as “do less actual production work.”
