Not all heroes wear capes. “Just doing what I can do” is far more than many of us are willing. Let this man serve as an example to us all. You don’t need to quit your job and spend months doing volunteer work to make the world a tiny bit better. I wish I could buy him a beer.
William Hartmann, one of two Republican election officials from Michigan who initially refused to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election in Wayne County, died on Nov. 30. A foe of anti-Covid vaccines, he was hospitalized with the virus. nyti.ms/31GVFf3
@CaptainNasdaq There was nothing of value posted by that account that wasn't already covered by the msm. The only extra stuff they posted was absurd and unfounded.
1 of 6:
6 December Gauteng #Omicron update:
With only light restrictions in South Africa, the load on hospitals remain much lighter compared to Delta.
My expected peak range from 12-22 December might be too conservative.
@nealboudette how many died on the way to discovering the new world. Imagine if the reporters in Spain attacked the explorers. Imagine if we never pushed the boundaries of what's possible over the small cost of innovation. The cost of no innovation is 60k dead a year.
@russ1mitchell@CadeMetz@nealboudette FSD 10.6 beta kicks ass. You’ll all be sad you printed all this in 5 years. Let me know if you’d like to actually try the software yourself.
@TeeKay_EV@WunderlinJohn@nealboudette I think if we were to get apples/apples analysis we’d find:
Driver assist tools do reduce accidents
Tesla’s solution is no safer than any other modern driver assist package
Kim - we emailed Elon, called, left messages, talked to people who are in contact with Elon, we tried the legal dept. So maybe ask Elon why Tesla has no voice in the story. It was Tesla’s decision not to respond. It was not a matter of NYT not reaching out to Tesla
@TeeKay_EV@WunderlinJohn@nealboudette Agreed - simply looking at miles traveled and accidents ignores:
Types of drivers (new luxury vs used beater)
How the system disengages on/around accidents
How drivers use AP (not as likely to be used in challenging environments like road construction or snow)
@MidwestHedgie@Corp_Raider99 Lab leak is probably much higher than 20% (60-80%?) - engineered (for testing) is probably 20-30%.
Read viral (Chan and Ridley) for a pretty measured telling of the tale. @kofinas had them on his podcast as well.
@Corp_Raider99 i would guess engineered virus that was lab leaked is <20% likely, though we'll prob never know.
regardless, in the end, after however many years, we'll get enough collective immunity that this becomes a common cold, like the other 4 endemic coronaviruses.
jfc some people want us to wear a stillsuit the rest of our lives for an endemic pathogen w/ a mortality rate less than influenza when vaccinated
fine, upgrade filters in HVAC. but we are ALL getting multiple lifetime Covid-19 exposures; either our immune systems work or we die.
@ttmygh@fleckcap I agree with the hosts that ad hoc censorship is dangerous and appreciate a forum for controversial views.
A concern is that this topic (public health) is out of their lane so they are less able to filter or challenge ideas.
