I think people are totally forgetting what our team would have looked like if we kept KAT.
We would have had to Lose Naz Reid for nothing or trade him for a 1st, and we would never of had Donte, Randle, and Beringer.
Our Roster would literally be:
Ayo
Ant
McDaniels
KAT
Gobert
Zero bench.
That group ain’t doing anything in the west. In the east they would likely make the East Finals. East is weak still.

He DOES impose himself on the team. Stories of his fiery film sessions are legion.

Saw someone else already said this, but winning a ring isn't the only definition of success.
If you asked Minnesota fans three years ago if they'd take the run they've had, most would say yes. It's some of the best seasons in history, even without a ring.
I'm sure Sacramento fans would take the early 2000s back if they could, too, even though they didn't win a ring.

I really hate how when a team loses we relitigate everything. The Wolves gave up a bunch of picks for Rudy and he had a bad Game 6 against a better team. They traded KAT because of the CBA for Randle and he had a bad series. They made two WCFs and got to the second round, for a team that has been a historical joke since KG in 2004, TWENTY years ago. They built a good team, they couldn't get it to put it together. It doesn't mean it wasn't worth it.

Minnesota has about $31 million below the 2nd apron, and only 9 roster spots are accounted for.
Let's say Bones, Clark, Anderson, and Conley all sign for the veteran's minimum ($2.45 million against the cap). That would leave Minnesota with about $21 million to resign Ayo.
Theoretically, that should be plenty and would equate to about a four-year, $90 million deal. The concern here is a team with cap space coming in and offering a 4-year, $ 100m+ deal.
I'm sure Ayo is very open to staying in Minnesota, and that will count for something, but asking him to leave $10+ million on the table is enough to start bracing for Ayo's next contract not being with the Timberwolves.
I think there's a good chance he'll be retained, but it's worth noting that some suitors can outspend Minnesota here.
