Interesting to me that renters are often overlooked in the context of property tax increase discussions. As a lowly rentoid, I promise you any tax increase will be passed onto me in the form of a rent hike. I also don't benefit from the homestead exemption.

Sadly, I think this says a lot about Texas Democrats. This race divided along racial lines all over the state using the "more electable" argument, which clearly Black folks didn't believe. Talarico is going to have to do some major work in Black neighborhoods if he wants to gain their support.

The racial polarization in the TX U.S. Senate primary is extreme. Crockett is winning heavily Black areas in Tarrant County by up to 80 points while Talarico is winning the affluent, white suburbs by 50-60 points.
