While Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, CON was in Abuja today evening, we heard about the emergence of a coronation which is called a "consensus" for all the elective positions in Gombe State. Legally, there can be no valid consensus without involving the aspirants who have obtained or completed their expression of interest and nomination forms. We advise all our supporters to remain calm and law-abiding. However, the total disregard for the provisions of the law cannot be ignored by us. The Nigeria Electoral Act, 2026, outlines the modes of nomination in Section 84 (2): Political parties are restricted to only two methods for selecting candidates in which coronation is not among them. The two methods are: 1) Consensus: A candidate may emerge if all cleared aspirants provide written consent to step down. If even one aspirant refuses, the party must revert to a direct primary. 2) Direct Primaries: Every registered party member has the right to vote directly for their preferred aspirant. The action is completely contrary to the provisions of the law, the directive of the National Party, and the instruction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We urge our supporters to get ready for direct primaries after addressing major challenges in the APC database in the state. Our legal team is also working on addressing the challenges and observations. May Allah bless Gombe State and may Allah bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thank you all. Signed: Professor Suleiman Mohammed From Gombe State. (On Behalf of all Supporters and members of Pantamiyya Movement). 03/May/2026

Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso’s defection to the other side may have an impact on our overall performance in Kano. However, this is not insurmountable. As long as we keep our house intact and put our affairs in proper order, victory is still very much within our reach.

This morning something happened in my house that really surprised me. I wanted to bath my little daughter because my wife was busy in the kitchen cooking. Just normal father duties, nothing serious. I carried my daughter and went to the bathroom. Suddenly my wife rushed out of the kitchen like there was an emergency. The way she ran, you would think someone shouted that a bomb was about to drop. She looked at me with very serious eyes and said I should stop immediately. According to her, I have no right to bath our female child and she had warned me about it before. She even said this would be the last warning and that I wouldn’t like what would happen if I tried it again. Honestly, I just stood there confused, looking like a complete fool because I have never heard of any law in Nigeria that says a father cannot bath his own daughter. Now I’m really wondering… Is there actually any rule or cultural belief that says a father shouldn’t bath his daughter? Or is this just something some families believe in? Because in my mind, taking care of your child boy or girl is part of being a parent. I’m genuinely asking: Fathers here, have you ever bathed your daughter before? Mothers, do you think it’s wrong? Let’s talk. I want to understand if I’m missing something here. 🤔 ©️ The People’s Parliament

PRESS STATEMENT In the last 24 hours, social media has exploded over my interview with Mehdi Hassan, albeit with varied opinions. Let me set the record straight. When I signed on to the privileged job granted to me by Mr. President, I was well aware of its implications. Selling ice cream, looking fine, and seeking the praises of men were never part of it. Some of the fiercest critics of my interview can not even stand local TV anchors. But the task of promoting and defending the President and his administration is what I do with ease and joy. I am prepared to appear before any interviewer, anywhere in the world, any day and at any time, to defend this government and its policies. I have never, and will never, subscribe to ducking or dodging interviews on matters that concern promoting and defending the administration I was appointed to serve. It is the least of what is required of me. Head to Head contacted me requesting an interview, stating that they wanted to challenge our government on security, the economy, and corruption. Nowhere in our almost six months of communication did they mention that they were going to challenge my past. If that had been their plan, ethically and professionally, they were supposed to inform me so I could prepare my response. But that’s okay, ethically, that is on them, not on me. I refused to swallow the pill of Mehdi’s “opposition research-style journalism,” and even today, if you carefully compare what he read as quotes from organisations and groups, you will see that many were inaccurate and some were outright fake news. But I will leave that for another day. As for what I said about President Tinubu in the past, I am glad those were things I said when I was in the opposition saddle with such zeal. It is all politics. Half of Donald Trump’s cabinet is made up of people who once spoke against him, and quite a number of people in our own cabinet also spoke against President Tinubu in the past. Those things do not bother him if you care to know. The majority of the naysayers are members of the opposition and their sympathisers. It does not bother me one bit. Their temporary excitement over the interview has not lasted and will not last, because it does not take away their obvious problem of lack of vision, mission in conducting and managing a political party; yet they seek to manage Nigeria. Clearly they have no path to victory and no alternative policies or program for the Nigerian people. And if they say they do, they can as well go to head to head and be interrogated on that; as the saying in Hausa goes “Ga fili Ga doki” I conclude by thanking the many Nigerians and non-Nigerians who sent in their commendations over my brave defence of our government in an interview where the anchor would hardly let you answer a question unless it suited his narrative. I still have admiration and respect for Mehdi Hassan as arguably the best debater on the planet. I look forward to part two of the Head to Head interview, and I am glad that by then questions about my past will no longer be news so that we can focus on our administration’s policies, programs and what we have achieved so far. Stay tuned. – D.H Bwala Special Adviser to President on Media and Policy Communication (State House) Saturday March 7, 2026

Went to Wuse market to get some materials, I was waiting for for my ride and a man pulled up in my front with GLS 450 (tinted) He rolled down and was like “Hello, what’s a pretty girl like you doing under this hot sun”, told him I was going home. He offered to drop me,I declined and told him my ride is few minutes away. He proceeded to ask me my name and phone number- I told him my name but refused to give him my line. My ride came, he offered to pay and I declined again. This man followed me from Wuse to Gwarinpa. I texted my sister immediately and had to drop at a mall so he doesn’t follow me home. Followed another route and went home. After about an hour a number called me and it was him, asked him how he got my line he said he had to bribe the driver to give him my number. I ended the call. Next thing I got a credit alert of #500,000 in my OPay and he texted me on WhatsApp that he sent the money to show me how serious he is. I told him to send his account so I can send the money back that I’m not interested, he refused. I had to block him immediately cos he’s older and definitely a married man. Na so una Dey do for this Abuja ?

Interesting points. Allow me to offer my views on some of them. On your first point, it is correct that the National Security Agencies Act establishes the State Security Service (SSS) and does not expressly mention the “Department of State Services (DSS).” However, this is unlikely to invalidate proceedings. Nigerian courts treat such nomenclature discrepancies as misnomer, provided there is no confusion about the identity of the agency. The SSS has long operated administratively as DSS. Unless prejudice is shown, the defect is curable. On your second point, the NSA Act does not expressly grant prosecutorial powers to the SSS/DSS. But Section 174 of the Constitution vests prosecutorial authority in the Attorney-General of the Federation, who may act personally, through officers of his department or by granting fiat to other agencies or individuals.  In practice, SSS/DSS officers frequently prosecute matters, particularly under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, either in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Justice or delegated representatives of the Attorney-General. Thus, the real legal question is not whether the SSS possesses inherent prosecutorial power, but whether the charge was instituted in the name of the AGF or pursuant to proper constitutional authorisation from him (which is typically standard and not granted on a case-by-case basis). On your third point, an extrajudicial statement simply means a statement made outside court proceedings. It does not need to be made under caution unless it is made before the police or other investigative agencies and the prosecution seeks to tender it as a confessional statement whose voluntariness is in issue. A televised interview is capable of constituting an admission. The absence of caution does not automatically render it inadmissible. Furthermore, if you watch the interview again, you will observe that El-Rufai first said, “We listen to their calls,” and subsequently stated, “Someone tapped his phone and told me,” without indicating that his initial remark was a mistake. The prosecution is therefore entitled to frame multiple alternative counts to reflect those two formulations, and that appears to be what was done in Counts 1 and 2. If he contends that the first statement was a slip, the prosecution may fall back on the second count. On your fourth point, section 36(11) of the Constitution protects against compelled self-incrimination. It does not immunise voluntary public statements. If a person speaks freely on national television, those words are admissible. The constitutional shield applies against compulsion - not against consequences of voluntary speech. Having said all of the above, I think El-Rufai’s words alone are unlikely to ground a conviction for wiretapping. The prosecution must still prove beyond reasonable doubt:  1.That interception actually occurred; 2.That it was unlawful; 3.That he participated, facilitated or conspired.  Without independent oral, document or expert evidence, a televised utterance alone may be insufficient to ground conviction.
Inibehe Effiong@InibeheEffiong

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has been charged with cybercrime for alleging wiretapping the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Rubadu, Looking at this charge, I have a few issues with it. Firstly, there is no entity known to law as Department of State Services (DSS) as stated in this charge. The National Security Agencies Act only recognizes and creates the State Security Service (SSS). Secondly, the said Act does not vest the SSS with prosecutorial power. Thirdly, does El-Rufai’s statement on Arise TV qualify as an “extrajudicial statement” under the law, same having not been made under caution? For a statement to be extrajudicial and confessional, it has to be under caution. He didn’t say he wiretapped the NSA, he said someone else did and told him. The constitutional right against self-incrimination will enure in his favour. No court can compel him to give evidence against himself. I am not a fan of El-Rufai, but this charge appears problematic in law. Time will tell.

In fairness, we should not expect a person, especially someone as well educated as Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, to hold on to opinions and views formed over 20 years ago. A lot has changed within that period, society has evolved, realities have shifted and knowledge has expanded. Yet, some people still expect others to remain rigid-minded individuals, someone who insists on clinging to ideas, methods and ways of thinking from two or three decades ago and forcing them on today’s world. That is bad. If education, science and technology had not been continuously updated in line with global developments, the world would never have achieved the progress we see today, let alone human beings themselves. Growth is a product of learning, exposure and the willingness to reassess old positions. Prof. Pantami is absolutely right to change his opinions about politics and life, especially when his continuous pursuit of education and knowledge has shown him better and more informed paths than those he previously held. We should know that changing opinions and views in the face of deeper understanding is not a weakness, it is a mark of wisdom and intellectual maturity. So it is Pantami for Gombe 2027.

Lecturer allegedly Convulses, Collapses, D+es In young lady’s House in Minna The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the d+ath of a 53-year-old lecturer, Abdulfatai Aiyede, who reportedly d+ed while visiting a young woman in Minna. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, the incident was reported on January 27, 2026, at about 10 a.m. Aiyede, said to be from Bida, had travelled to Minna to visit a 25-year-old nursing student identified as Stella Joseph at her residence in Minna. Police said that during the visit, Stella allegedly served him a meal. Shortly after eating, Aiyede reportedly began to convulse and suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to the General Hospital in Minna for urgent medical attention but was later confirmed d+ad by medical personnel. Abiodun stated that Stella has been arrested in connection with the incident. He added that the deceased’s body is undergoing examination to determine the exact cause of d+ath.

So a child in my class brought food to school today but didn’t touch it. I asked why, and he said their house help hasn’t returned from Christmas break and the food his mummy cooked is not sweet. Now, in my school, if a child doesn’t eat and you don’t report it or inform the parent through the communication book, you’ll be penalized. The funny part? This particular parent never opens the communication book. I still wrote it there and, when she came to pick him up, I politely stepped aside with her and said, “Good afternoon ma’am, your child didn’t eat his food today. I don’t know why.” I pretended like he hadn’t told me anything. Only for her to turn to the boy and ask, Why didn’t you eat your food? And this boy confidently replied, “It’s not sweet now. Shebi it’s only aunty Mercy that knows how to cook very well. She just smiled and said, let go to the car 😭😭😭
