Kenyan Facts 🇰🇪
Kenyan Facts 🇰🇪@KResearcher·
This speed camera thing is just a mess if not hilarious. So you have 4 groups driving on the same road. First group thinks they are in a 50KM section,so they are slow. The 2nd group thinks its a 80KM section, fast but cautious at 60-70KMs, then another group thinks its a 110KM section, eyes fixed on speedometers. The 4th group does not care, they are flying. The first three are driving but half the time their eyes are on their speedometers. All these drivers are driving on the same road and its a mess.

Kenya Vision 2030
Kenya Vision 2030@KenyaVision2030·
The Nairobi Expressway is a modern transport infrastructure project and a flagship Kenya Vision 2030 initiative designed to provide a faster, safer, and more efficient travel experience. The 27.1-kilometre access-controlled toll road stretches from Mlolongo and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) through Nairobi's Central Business District to Westlands, serving as a key transport corridor linking major economic, commercial, and residential centres. Developed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, the expressway enhances connectivity, reduces congestion, facilitates trade, and improves access to markets and services. Motorists can travel the entire corridor in approximately 20 minutes at the legally permitted speed of 80 km/h, significantly cutting journey times. Key benefits include shorter travel times, improved road safety, lower vehicle operating costs, and increased productivity for businesses and commuters. The expressway also supports investment, economic growth, and urban development, advancing the aspirations of Vision 2030. #KenyaVision2030 #NairobiExpressway #PPP

The continued growth of Kenya’s Public Private Partnerships Program reflects the increasing convergence of public policy, private capital, and institutional capacity in addressing the country’s infrastructure financing requirements. As infrastructure demand continues to expand across transport, energy, water, housing, health, education, and digital connectivity, the Program has evolved into a structured platform for project development, investment mobilization, and long term asset delivery. This progress has been supported by stronger project preparation frameworks, enhanced transaction management, improved regulatory certainty, and sustained engagement with domestic and international investors. The opportunities presented within the current PPP portfolio demonstrate the scale of investment required to support Kenya’s development ambitions and the critical role of partnership in unlocking that investment. Equally important is the growing emphasis on project quality, commercial sustainability, value for money, and effective risk allocation throughout the project lifecycle. This publication, Kenya Public Private Partnerships Program 2025/2026, documents the progress that has been realized across the Program while offering a detailed perspective on the opportunities, projects, and institutional developments shaping the next phase of PPP implementation in Kenya. The breadth of projects featured within the publication illustrates the extent to which PPPs have become embedded within the country’s infrastructure delivery architecture. Infrastructure development is increasingly defined by the ability to align public priorities with long term investment capital, technical expertise, innovation, and execution capacity. The experiences, transactions, and opportunities highlighted in this publication demonstrate the growing role of PPPs in creating that alignment and in supporting the delivery of infrastructure assets that contribute to economic productivity, service delivery, and national development.
