On a recent ANA flight from the US to Japan, I was surprised to see warnings against illegal "sneak photography." I take the same flight at least once a year when visiting family, but I don't recall seeing such warning screens before.

My Gig List 1988 On 6th March it was back to Wembley Arena to see Heart. This was all about Nancy for me, they were ok I suppose. This was the days when Wembley was all seating and I managed to get 5th row which wasn't bad!

Did the UK's Business Secretary use a racial slur to refer to Japan's leaders in 2009? On 10/05/2009, [redacted] sent Jeffrey Epstein an e-mail about meeting the "j*p" Prime Minister. At the time, Epstein friend Peter Mandelson was in the middle of an official visit to Japan.

I haven't seen Japanese media reporting much about it, but the Epstein files include a 2015 e-mail in which Japanese entrepreneur Joi Ito(伊藤穰一) asks Epstein to influence the Assad regime and get a friend released from prison in Syria. Ito: [Do you] “happen to have anyone with influence over Assad?” Epstein replied: “not for email” Back in 2019, Ito apologized for his affiliation with Jeffrey Epstein, calling it an "error in judgment." He wrote that he'd visited several of Epstein's residences, but "in all of my interactions with Epstein, I was never involved in, never heard him talk about, and never saw any evidence of the horrific acts that he was accused of." His ties to Epstein led to his resignation from his post at MIT. Ito was later appointed as an advisor to the Japanese government's Digital Agency and Cabinet Office, and is currently president of Chiba Institute of Technology.

My Tokyo landlord is trying to raise my rent by 27% this renewal, from what I know there are protections against this kind of exorbitant rent hike - anyone have any experience getting legal assistance in such negotiations?
