Return journey: another ₹80. Grand daily total: ₹160. My car gives 14 kilometres to a litre. Office is 7 kilometres from home. Roughly ₹100 a day, door to door, including the petrol and the quiet dignity of arriving without fuss. Public transport, in other words, costs me ₹60 more than driving myself. Per day. In a city with a functioning Metro. This is what we call last-mile connectivity gap — the small, unglamorous gap between the grand infrastructure and your actual front door. Austerity, apparently, is for the commuter alone. The PM travels by motorcade. The last I checked.

@2024dion It costs an insane amount to get anything there relative to the cost of coffee beans. That’s how. The mark up has become absurd at these places. A new one opened near me. I ordered a latte and it was $8.40 before giving the barista some. $10 for a cup of coffee with milk.

I frequently work out of local coffee shops and frankly I don’t understand how any of these places make money

I look forward to seeing the reason for why Dexter wants to leave. I don't know what role Harbaugh has played in all of this, but he will get judged all the same. He gets the same leeway as the others to build the team in his image. But will get critiqued all the same if they don't succeed.
